Actually, that sounds really good and would fit really well if it were to cover DVMC. I hope the next season is a mix of part serious storyline (covering DVMC like they did on ODBD with The Second Raid) and part Fumoffu with random Bonta-Kun episodes thrown in.
There is a fine line between genius and insanity. Mine is perforated.

Personally, I don't see them going back to the school setting, since Sousuke let the cat out of the bag. Everybody know's he's Mithril, and that Kaname is Whispered. They would probably be ostracized if they tried to go back. Alas, we may have seen the last of Bonta-kun...

Nah. I suspect their friends will be pretty accepting.

You think so? Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I like the serious tone things have taken. Don't get me wrong, I love Fumoffu, but the depth of the storyline in TSR is more up my ally. The fic I'm working on is kind of dark, I suppose, but it'll have a light at the end of the tunnel. Probably.

Given the relationships that Sousuke and Kaname had built up with their friends, I don't see Gatou severing them. I mean, it'd be an interesting idea with a new direction to take the story, but I can't imagine that Gatou would do that though.

It better have a light at the end of the tunnel. Better yet, three lights :D OMG It's an incoming loc :-o

The reason I'm thinking that they'll at least patch up their relationship with their friends is threefold: 1) promise to bring kaname back 2) need for kaname to graduate and 3) it's the end of the series, probably, so there's no real need to show KxS living it wild on the run.

I can see that, I guess. I am sure going to hate for this series to end when it does. I wonder what Gatoh-san will do for his next project?

Yeah, a happy ending of Sousuke coming back to school with Kaname is what I'd expect.

A completely new sequal about their whispered children? Hmmm...

Bonta-Kun is invincible...Or Full Metal Panic! might end in a cliff hanger, like Sousuke rescues her, and the last scene is like them walking back to school together for the first time since Kaname got kidnapped. Though I hope it doesn't turn out like that. Think about it, if they would have a Whispered child, not only would Sousuke teach him/her how to be a soldier and stuff, but would also teach him the secret in using the Lambda Driver, a plus since he/she would be a Whispered, who can use all technology or something. Of course, if it would be a girl, Kaname would probably whack Sousuke with a harisen everytime Sousuke tried to show the girl to hold a gun properly.

Sousuke won't teach his kids to be a soldier. Maybe a little self-defense and how to use a stun gun. But I don't think he'll pass on the killing arts.

At least some spoilers from COMO cause me to believe that.

that would be the horrible ending that i am really really really hoping doesn't happen; i mean, yea, it's ok, but it seems like a cop-out; end with like a kiss or something... i mean comeon!!!! meh, i dunno, maybe any ending will be disappointing cause it'll mean the end of the series..

Unfortunately, that would be the typical anime ending. And frankly, I HATE the typical anime ending. >_<

After a series like this, they'd better give us the mother of all epilogues. Like an entire episode or two just dedicated to what happens after whatever the final battle is.
