Then it could be aliens shooting gamma rays at children who have any kind of connection to politics and military, but then shouldn't they go for the higher ups if they understand the earth so much?...

Assuming we're talking about aliens. But somehow I doubt it. There's still any number of potential explanations. Maybe the top of the top brass just happened to not be having any children that day and so they had to make due. Maybe the Whispered are part of some secret plot that's kept away from the ears of the main governments.

It just strikes me as odd that Gatoh would decide that Kaname, who for all intents and purposes in the story was a normal girl before Sousuke came along, would have a father working in a relatively high position in the UN instead of something less conspicuous like a business owner or salesman or something.

I wonder if we're given any info on Nami's parents.

The Mardukas arc is a three-part short story.

It's already over? Damn... I was hoping for more than that.

edit- thanks for the info. It's been a while since there has been a break, perhaps in Feb there won't be an FMP chapter?

I read on Gatou's site where he talks about taking a short break, so you're probably right. I didn't see any information about FMP on the dragon magazine website, either. Wonder how long it'll be?

*sj4iy might die from withdrawal after that last chapter*

I think you should write him lots of rude and inconsiderate letters pushing him to hurry up with the trans-, I mean, writing of these novels despite whatever he may have going on in his personal life. :p

Heh.
Just based on my memory, it seems as though they take a break around once a year- it's just a single issue with no new FMP chap. Seems like that between novel serials, there's usually a one issue break and some short ones. I wonder what we'll get in March?

Also, I wonder if how much interesting info is in the 3-parter. Not gonna be story shattering stuff, of course :( But still might be interesting, like the Kalinin/Sousuke one...

I unfortunately missed all those issues >.< (xmas takes away any money I have). I wonder how many of those short backstories he plans on writing altogether? I would like to read a backstory about Kaname...what kind of relationship she has with her father to make her move to Japan alone, etc.

We'll live. Somehow. :-P And yeah, Kaname could use some flashbacks - I strongly suspect that everyone else in the cast has had some history given in the novel/short story collections... but could somebody please jog my memory as to where Kalinin/Sousuke's short story is located? I can't place its position in this thread.

And is it just my imagination, or did Mardukas actually have hair at one point in recent history?

It was a two-part short story between COMO and BOMF.

Wasn't that in Fumoffu? I can't really remember, but I think he was already balding though.

Anyhow, it'd be interesting, all these.....
