Eva/NGE vs FMP .. -- Guilty as charged...

Well, that would be VERY nice.

One idea that keeps running around in my head is an FMP/Eva crossover... can you imagine the destruction in a 3-way NERV-JSSDF-Mithril fight?

I say SOusuke pwns Evas.... wait, sorry, wrong topic.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the TDD-1 crew. I'd sure like to see how they can survive and all. I mean, they've got no resupply, and while they probably have enough supplies for an extended patrol... what next? They'll need spares and all....

Unless, that is, Tessa and Mardukas have some backup supply dumos here and there, the way it's implied that the SRT members have various safehouses and ammo dumps (ala Jack Bristow from Alias).

Maybe that's where they can raid small arms, if the TDD-1s armory runs low. Although Sousuke probably had heavier gear than everyone else....

I agree, it'll be interesting to see how they're doing after BOMF...

Please forgive me, I just have to comment this. (Where's the best topic for this anyway?) If we take an experienced soldier like Sousuke, mount him into an ARX-7 with LD and have him use it without any "problems" then yes he would pwn all 3 EVAs assuming unit 01 doesn't have the ingested S2 unit while going berserk

However I do believe that a hypothetical EVA pilot with excellent ATF manipulation ability and S2 equipped EVA would tear any FMP mecha to shreds (LD or not). Reason: S2 giving UNLIMITED power to the AT Field, simply overpowering any limited amount of power the LD of FMP mecha could generate.

Hope I didn't go too far this time...

Euh EVA's don't stand a chance either ...
They have like what 5 mins? of battlefield operating time vs the what was it 100 hours of the ARX-7
So a tactic would be, In ECS wait for a EVA to pass then cut the cord or let Weber snipe it ... wait 5 mins and finish them off ....

Also that red haired bimbo wouldn't stand a chance against Kaname's halisen-jitsu.

It's 3 minutes as far as I can remember, and that's only if they arn't pluged in (as my bf called them - "The stupid plug-in robots")

Besides, Sousuke would probably just take them out without fighting in the AS- not much they can do against grenades or sniper rifles >:D

Ok maybe we should split this topic onto a new one for EVA vs FMP mech discussion... Like I said only an S2 engine equipped EVA that has UNLIMITED operating time and UNLIMITED ATF power output could outmatch any LD equipped mecha... And we would need a more "talented" pilot to use it than any of the "three stooges" anyway

Back on topic (admins going off is a bad sign you know), I wonder if they salvaged/copied Al from ARX-7 to model 8... We could also speculate more on the origins of this new machine as well

favor and put Shinji out of all our miseries.

2. Misato v Mao - whatever you do, don't EVER let those two on the town
with an unlimited bar tab

3. Tessa v Gendo - Gendo be da MAN!, but Tessa's easier on the eyes.

4. Kananme v Asuka - somehow, this mix is like throwing a match into
a tank of gas to prove it blows up

Tho there is no definitive proof
-- beyond alt universe reinterpretations and the Girlfriend of Steel game --
that Asuka thinks more of Shinji that a loserboy coworker who ALWAYS
gets lucky behind the wheel...

5. Kurz v Kaji - doesn't even compare, 'cept when it comes to the 'who
can outflirt who' contest

6. Mardukas v Fuyutsuki -

7. Shinji v Aida - a match made in heaven, tho Shinji can claim to have
already been in AND survived a life-or-death situation

8. Leonardo v Nagisa - c'mon, you KNOW these two were made for eachother

9. High Council of Mithril v Seele

Truth to tell tho, there's about 3million other anime out there FMP! could
be compared with so it's pretty subjective

And I always thought 3 minutes was Ultraman.

A better matchup would have been Kalinin versus Gendo - Clash of the Titans.

And since we're talking about power limitations, bear in mind that while EVAs have trouble operating aside from their power cords, almost all Lambda Drivers have had an annoying tendency to overheat at the worst possible times.

Don't forget that the AT field generated by an Evangelion is incredibly strong. One of the Angels was able to generate a field that could only be taken out with a positron rifle that was powered up with most of Japans daily electricity. The very fact that an AT field can only be neutralized with this kind of power or another equally strong AT field, lends me to believe that the mecha of FMP don't really stand much of a chance.

Well, the problem with these analyses is that while most FMP mecha don't stand much of a chance anyway, the Lambda Driver is an unknown quantity. Over long periods, the overheating would be a problem, but for a one-off emission of energy, there's no telling what the effects would be. (Besides, if both AT-fields and Lambda Drivers run off a pilot's mind and emotions...)

Still, considering size differences and the like, the FMP universe is at a disadvantage. One possible counter would be the surprise attack: I'm thinking Kurz + Stolen Venom from Amalgam + Sniper Shot to Dummy Plug. *shrug* In prolonged warfare, though, the MP EVA series would probably beat anything hands-down due to UNLIMITED POWER (ZAP!) and regeneration. Plus in a worst-case scenario, SEELE can just end the world.

(We're discussing EVAs, not Angels, right? Because the respective Angel power levels are highly variable, ranging from "beaten by hand-to-hand combat alone" versus "resisting several N2 mines", with a "haXX0red by human non-pilot" rating somewhere in between.)

This is all your fault, Goose. You can't compare the two fairly, although we might have to wait for a few more installments of Super Robot Taisen before we can decide.

P.S. Ease up with the Shinji hate, y'all. I actually don't mind his character all that much. Besides, he might just decide to run crying to his Mommy, and we all know how that turns out.

Ah, it's been a long time since I watched Evangelion. What can I say, I clearly have a bias for FMP, its characters and its mecha. Trying to be objective I would have to say that in a full out power confrontation, I believe the EVAs would probably win. However, I do think that in a fight using all tactical advantages, strategy and combat experience, the Urza AS fighters would stand a fairly good chance of winning.
Heck, as many others have agreed, I'd love to see Shinji finally die, and what better way than being totally mauled by Sousuke or randomly sniped off by Kurz.
