Road trip!!!

Post by naiomi »

So I am going on a roadtrip to Canada on Tuesday. I live in SoCal and we are going to go along to coast all the way up to Vancouver. There are a few palces we want to stop but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on cool places to go or things to see. Like, a giant ball of yarn ><

Can't speak for south of the 49th, but in BC, Vancouver / Victoria I hear
is lovely for tourist types. The waterfront, the ferry, and the BC interior is
highly recommended, as is a trip thru the Rocky Mountains if you like your
altitudes to be above sealevel.

How long you planning on this trip lasting?

Don't forget your passport! I'm going to Victoria at the end of August and was surprised to learn that I was going to need one to get into Canada. The same is true for the Caribbean and Mexico. Since this has been a rule since January 2006, I am severely out of the loop :P

As advice for a place to stop, why not check out Mt. Rainier National Park: http://www.nps.gov/mora/? My fiance's aunt and uncle work there and they say August is absolutely the best time to go.

Crater Lake in Oregon looks cool and is one of the places I haven't been to but want to. I hear Oregon's coast is pretty too. I can't really think of any out of the ordinary places to go along the way. Just the famous locales like Bay Area, Seattle's Space Needle... Victoria Island has a nice big botanical garden. Um yea. :)

sigh, the only waterfalls we have are the streams to be found in our toilets.
But we do have a lot of pretty speedbumps ... does that count?

You know, speedbumps were invented in Holland ... <g>

Holland and Belgium have the most risk taking drivers too... (hence the need for so many speed bumps? ... double as ramps? :P)

but all in all I think Belgium has you beat in the risky driver category. Talk to them about adding speed bumps would ya?

There's a cheesebarn in Ohio :D That's the best I can do for ya

I have my birth certificate and whatnot but I hight doubt I will be able to get into Canada. But the trip will still be fun, almost done packing too.

It's not the problem of getting *into* Canada...it's more the problem of the US letting you back in. Anyway, I read that all you need is your birth certificate and a photo id. You don't have to have your passport.
