China is NOT an Anime Fans Friend

This is one of the most ridiculous things that I have ever seen. Restricting anime and other foreign animation in order to increase popularity for their own animation studios. What the he11 is with that? Shouldn't it be more like give the people what they want to see? Happen here and I would go to berserker mode. Ah, Communism.

1) When has protecting the domestic porkbarrel been limited to the (Chinese)
Communists? I believe the Captialist technical term is 'the price of doing
business' (sarcasm intended)

2) China has a big chip on its shoulder about wanting to prove to the world
they can meet and/or beat everyone else at their own game, be it the world's
biggest dam, launching their own astronaut into space, hosting a worldclass
event, etc etc etc.

3) The Chinese Communist Party are known control freaks.. especially
when it comes from 'foreign' sources.. what else is new?

Amusing read nonetheless

i actually view this policy as quite welcoming, as it's supposed to boost china's own animation industry to meet that of japan's and other country's. long term speaking, it should be of benefit to anime lovers eventually

just look at south korea for example, they banned foreign drama/soup opera (mainly from japan) from their "golden hours" about 3 or 4 years ago, can't remember exactly, and now korea drama is of top quality in asia

But the problem is that China isn't exactly known for good anime, I don't know a single one from them. So obviously it's to support their own studios in a desperate effort and to also suppress foreign pop culture. This is just wrong in my tastes.

if they are known for good anime then they don't need to implement this policy to help their own animation industry then is there? lol

by the way, it's not that they are banning foreign anime altogether, they are just not gonna program it on mainstream channels during "golden hours", so it's hardly "surpress influence of foreign pop culture"

real anime fans can still find plenty of foreign ones on tv or video

Imho it goes hand in hand with the increasing Chinese censor policy.
Looks to me that everything that has a little to do with "media" slowly comes under government control.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."
