No prizes for guessing where this goes from here - my speculation is that, since Mithril might not have the required resources at this stage, Kalinin's going to use Amalgam's own technology to build/rebuild the ARX-8, Gundam Wing style.

So Amalgam are basically doing same with ARX-8 than OZ did with Gundam Wing in MS Gundam Wing? Intresting....but who will get that new AS? Will Sousuke steal it from Amalgam?

Hmm. Now that Kaname knows that Sousuke is still alive. Maybe there's some way she can 'help' him get it as a way of rebeling a little bit without a full out escape attempt. Who knows, maybe she's going to work on it.
I don't know...I wonder how much Kalinin really knows about the Whispered? If you remember in the first season of the anime, he's talking to Sousuke about how "unnatural" all of the technology is all of the sudden. I wonder if he's not trying to get rid of it all. This is a pure guess, though. As good as any other conspiracy theory, though. I'm still waiting on getting my issue for this month, but I did read a summary of it on a japanese blog I frequent. I just have a feeling that Kalinin is higher motives than just being in Mithril or in Amalgum...he's definitely not a stupid underling.

Indeed, he is not. Though it does make me wonder whether or not he's a wolf in sheep's clothing when it comes to working with Amalgam. You know, like an infiltrator for Mithril. Oh, only time will tell! Love the daggers shooting out of Kaname's eyes in that pic

I've been waiting to see something like this. Hopefully nothing tragic happens with a new and improved ARX running rampant in the hands of Amalgam... or maybe even by Kalinin himself.

anyway, i don't think it's the real ARX-8, remember at the end of the book "burning one man force" ARX-8 makes an appearance and by wraith's description, she doesn't recognize the AS's model as anything she's seen before, only that it's a "third generation AS"
whereas here, the AS kalinin shows leonard has only the appearance of a regular M-9, and when he offers to show leonard the core lambda driver, leonard waves it off, perhaps with too much pride or too disappointed in how easy it is to have been captured (hence no actual comfirmation that this is the ARX-8), my guess is that kalinin switched off the real ARX-8 with a fake one, or that he has not captured the real ARX-8 in the first place
