Amplify and Syncronize are NOT the same.

Amplification boosts the power of an an existing signal.

Syncronizing means to bring two seperate signals together so that the timing between them is the same. This *doesnot* mean that the signals are in phase. All it means is that the 2 signals reference the same timebase.

You may of course need to amplify a signal before you can syncronize it, but amplification also reduces your SNR.

That could explain why Mithril diosen't need to use drugs to do it and why Amalgal needs drugs to do it.

There is no evidence that Amalgam personel is using that drugs.

About the TAROS

And from the anime the TAROS is directly connected to the control of the submarine not to a LD/AI.

If Sousuke is able to pilot an AS with a Lambda Driver without special training or the use of drugs it's likely because of the AI since it's a part of the Lambda Driver and the alter-ego of Sousuke.

As I see it the TAROS is "just" a advanced brainscanner with a controling interface and the LD magic comes from the AL/Sousuke "symbiosis"

Actually, I'd say Leonard's the exception - on the grounds that he's a Whispered, and therefore knows how to manipulate the Omnisphere, well, perfectly. (Or almost.) Everyone else is just plain [guano] insane.
