FMP! Light Novel Translations
Hi!
My name is Ken Selvin, and I've been looking around, trying to inform people of a new translator for the light novels, if you didn't already know.
I've lately been seeing quite a few people visiting my Livejournal, surprised that Ravyn either A) wasn't doing translations anymore, or B) that someone else had taken up her mantle.
So, for those who have been wondering what's going on, I've created a small team who is currently in the process of translating the FMP! Light Novels that are crucial to the center of the story (BOMF, CMMD, SINT/ANOT). If you are are interested, you can get periodic updates at my Livejournal page.
Cheers! I hope this helps some people!

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Heh, I hope not. We're just normal people who got tired of waiting for the next chapter...
Actually, I think that was just me. Hurricane hadn't heard of the series before, and Adana and ScarVes had only watched the anime. They didn't even know about the light novels. XD Ah well. They've joined the crusade, so that's all that really matters.

I have been reading the translations on your blog for awhile, so it was a pleasant surprise to see your post here. Looking forward to more chapters of SINT/ANOT in the future.
Welcome to the board! I am sure the official welcome wagon will arrive soon in his own unique style! Where is KiLlEr anyway?

Well, darn. I was hoping for some orange juice and brownies.
Thanks for the greeting. I'm just another typical FMP fan, except for the fact that I randomly showed one person FMP, she loved it, introduced me to her friend, who also loved it and spoke Japanese, who introduced me to her Chinese friend, who also loved it and spoke Chinese and had the Chinese translations, and so I formed a translation group!
... Still not quite certain how that progression occurred... Well, it worked, and everyone's happy! XD And that's my story. So, tell me! How'd you get into FMP?
Sorry if it seems like a really random question. I've just been wondering lately about how people got into FMP. For me, it was three years of off-and-on hunting for the anime, before I finally found a high-quality sub which was AMAZING. Then I tracked down the light novels, and then the aforementioned meeting occurred, and now I'm randomly a translator. ;D

Hmmm? What were you saying?
Not really certain. Adana is currently spearheading the translations with all due haste, since she is on summer vacation. However, I haven't been able to get in contact with her, though she has returned from China now... >.> Me thinks she went AWOL to avoid me. ;P
Ah well. I'm tracking her down now. Hopefully, I'll finally be able to DO something instead of sit on my thumbs, waiting for her to translate... T-T We've finished the first (& I think the second as well) sections of the AS battle, though, so that's fun! Adana is also of the opinion that she likes dialogue scenes better than the AS battles, because Gatou uses SO MANY TECHNICAL TERMS when writing the battle scenes... It's really painful for Adan to translate.

*Unfolds entrenching tool and digs out of small mountain of debris...*
Well, that just gives us all something to look forward to! You guys are still faster than the weasels at Tokyo Pop, who have completely dropped the ball on issuing their translations. I am sure it has to do with the current state of the US economy, but the are still managing to maintain their output of other drivel...
Anyway, looking forward to your future posts.

*tsk* I forgot that that's the problem with small mountains of debris, they are easy to dig out of...
Actually, I noticed that too. They haven't released anything in FMP! for a while, which surprises me. They were operating on a half-year basis before, but now it looks like they've dropped it completely from the list of things they are releasing... Weird.
Anyway, I'm not quite certain if you can say that we are moving as fast as Tokyopop, because it'll be almost a year before our first release at this rate. DARN IT! WHERE THE HELL IS ADANA?!?
Edit: ... Just called Adana... I got her when she was at work... T-T Not one of my brighter moments...

A million rays, a symphony of light.
A chorus of converging beam cannons send the atmosphere sizzling,
torn apart by the pure plasma-glow of superheated gas.
Like moses parting the red sea, but far flashier,
KiLlEr makes his presence be known.....

Welcome to the insane asylum!
Please leave you sanity checked in at the door, we cannot be held responsible for any sanity lost, stolen, damaged, found drowned head first in the toilet, or server on a bed of gold encrusted lettuce with a slice of lemon. Please be aware that you may find yourself at times sitting in the corner babbling incoherently and drooling into a bucket (please pickup your bucket at the counter by the bar, your most valuable appendage will be required as a deposit). This is normal and should be no cause for alarm.
Enjoy your stay. }B>
Now, for the anime girl line dance in celebration of your arrival.......

1) Where's this bar again? Because I REALLY want my bucket! I can protect myself from the Nazi zombies with it!
2) I only recognize one of those girls, and that's Yurika from Martian Successor Nadesico... Who are the others from?
3) You don't have an anime dance from either Kaname (which is a MUST on an FMP forum) or from Kyou (from Clannad, who I'm the president of her fan club, outside of my fan club membership of FMP). I'm disappointed.
4) Most valuable appendage is the deposit? That's incredible sexist against men! I like the way you think!
5) I LOVE CRAZY PEOPLE!! You and I will get along great!
Edit: Oh, and I found a new one for your line dance, just in case you want another strange one.

The first 2 are some user made ones I picked up from my travels far and wide on the internets. The next 4 are my own creations clipped from anime:UltimateKane99 wrote: 2) I only recognize one of those girls, and that's Yurika from Martian Successor Nadesico... Who are the others from?
Saa-chan from Seto no Hanayome
the next 3 are Rin, Ren and Mimi from Kodomo no Jikan
I asked them to come but they had otehr plans. }B>UltimateKane99 wrote: 3) You don't have an anime dance from either Kaname (which is a MUST on an FMP forum) or from Kyou (from Clannad, who I'm the president of her fan club, outside of my fan club membership of FMP). I'm disappointed.
