Also got a longtime friend's Bday to attend tomorrow, looking forward to and hoping nothing crashes that!

Unfortunately, as the bday involved his underage kids and me driving, there was no booze. Still was alot of fun though,
and was good to catch up with him.

...another sign of how "All Good Things Must Come To An End," the last scanlated volume of Oh My Goddess came out
Saturday, and I just got a chance to read it *sighs* 25 Freakin' Years! this has been going on...

I will say that at least Keichi and Belldandy got married -- they didn't do "the deed," but they got married.
Belldandy also says something very Belldandy-ish that put a smile on my face, and brings the story full circle.

Can't wait for thursday -- is payday -- and for saturday -- monthly trip to the comics store with Noir.

Saw Edge of Tomorrow with Noir and another friend, here's my 00000010bits

Things To Avoid / I Hated :
- Tom Cruise
- deus ex machina ending
- unnecessary romance / kiss between Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise

Things I Liked :
- Emily Blunt, pulls off the whole Full Metal B***h / Warrior Princess fairly well.
- Things going KABOOM!
- deliberate WW2 / D-Day aesthetic.
- fun things to do with claymore mines, and the side labeled "front towards enemy"
- powered exosuits... THIS is what Starship Troopers should have been
- Bill Paxton sticking it to Tom Cruise

Penultimate Moment in Movie
- the number of times Tom Cruise got it stuck to him, or got his ass kicked! Seriously, if you just made the
movie of that, I would have been entertained / happy!

Short version, the structure's just like every other looper-type timetravel movie out there.
Dunno if I'll see this again in theaters, but am going to be adding this to my "to buy" list.

...hope Noir stops by with his input as well.

Well .. I've read the book and the Manga (Just Kill)
and actually the FMB never got killed as I recall correctly. (been a while)

I had this matrix vibe during the last battle while she was skidding over the ground with that "helo" and he was playing door gunner.

I liked the truck scene ... (splat!)
Missed the kitchen romance.
And I liked the humor in it .. I found Cruise not that annoying but maybe I'm getting soft at old age.
By miles better than Jack Reacher.

But why the happy end ... that really didn't happen grrrrr.

Saw the Edge of Tomorrow with Hellfire and Hellfire’s friend on Saturday . The Edge of Tomorrow is a fun midicore science fiction movie, it feels like Groundhog day (a 1993 film starring Bill Murray) mixed in with a video game and a sci fiction anime. There were some parts of Edge of Tomorrow that where funny, however those moments are few and far between .The ending of Edge of Tomorrow felt rip out of Pacific Rim . I may watch this movie if comes out on Netflix i do not feel the need to buy this movie on dvd or on Itunes . There are better modern science fiction movies out there like Pacific Rim and District 9

I also saw How to Train your Dragon 2 by myself on Friday . I never saw the first How to Train your Dragon when first came out, I am glad that the film recaps the events of the first movie for anybody without any prior knowledge. How to Train your Dragon 2 is fun action adventure with a nice rich world and nice cast of characters . I have The first Movie on my List on Netflix I will watch it sometime in the summer, I been told that there is a tv series attached to this movie hope it comes on Netflix sometime.

...saw Transformers 4 with a friend today :

- the new XX chromosomer eyecandy HAS to have gotten the role via casting couch, while the other two XX chromosomers were MUCH more interesting
- Optimus G1 form FTW! Just wish they had his trailer again
- methinks the Japanese and Irish slurs / stereotypes are going to go over like a lead balloon with the audience
- this time (city) destruction visits the US (again) and Hong Kong
- DINOBOTS!
- CIA is returned to their traditional Hollywood dark forces roots... what, the NSA is not good enough anymore?
- Kelsey Grammer steals ALL the scenes he's in!

What'd make it more WIN! would've been a beryllium baloney / cesium salami comment in the dialog of the Dinos...
_IF_ they had any speaking lines.

If you like watching robots in disguise and s**t blow up, go for it. Expect any more and your brain just blows up

...T'was a happy 147 for those of us north of the 49th yesterday... Noir and I went around town and had ALOT of fun!
The weather even held out for once -- 29C / 84F AND SUNNY!. Wish I could've stuck around for fireworks, but
am back to work today.

Salutes to our bretheren south of the 49th this weekend!

I've been hiding in the lab creating applejack.
but a new challenge appeared distilling ...

Currently fermenting cider that has some of the canadian maple syrup used in the yeast starter. An wow the stuff is fermenting brilliantly and looks very nice due to the colour of the maple syrup.

If this experiment works I'll be distilling the result in an aqua still

Good news is Grandmother's birthday didn't have too much dramady... was good to see family, and have some fun outside of
the celebrations proper. The family photoshoot was like herding cats as expected (20+ participants).
