...thanks for sharing Noir :) nice pics!

And I didn't notice a hiccup Taurec... been so busy in life, with professional and personal crap. Noir and I had a bunch of fun last weekend with friends
we hadn't seen in awhile -- played laser tag, haunted mini golf and ate at
this new restaurant I'd found.

Supposed to be a long weekend for us north of the 49th, but I'm working
because a) I need the money and b) got a bunch of things to do.

How's everyone else's life going?

Noir, another friend and I caught the new Supergirl premiere yesterday... WHEEE!!! Was going out of my skull waiting for Oct 26th to roll around.
About what I'd seen with the leaked trailer, but was a treat to catch the preview for 2nd episode -- power hungry family with superpowers... never
ends well.

Also had a good laugh at the news of the Jem And The Holograms movie, specifically the opening #s. 1.3Meg.... that's 1.3Meg more than it should
have made :eyerolls: Said it before and I'll say it again, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the 80s version of the cartoon... just a blind rape
and pillage by Hollywood.

Tall And Cold... just cuz.

Jem .... arg.
At least Hollywoes has Deadpool right'ish..

Bronze Age, Silver Age, PAD version, 2004 version, or New 52 version?

I've read the last two fully, and yeah, they definately had times where she was quite unlikable.
PAD not so much, but was heavy on the existential / religious / "Who Am I?" tones.

Didn't as Noir and I were goofing off in his basement at the time. Maybe I'll catch the next ep.

Just got back from Spectre with Noir and a few other friends. MY initial thoughts :

The Good :

- Onscrene mention of SPECTRE and the name Bloefeld again after a 40y+ hiatus

- Ben Whitshaw 1liner quips with Daniel Craig

- Ben Whitshaw and Naomi Harris being given more screen time than their predecessors

- Craig getting to seduce the women finally in true Bond fashion --
beds a grieving widow AND a grieving daughter...
Wow!

- Andrew Scott... PURE CREEP! in his portrayal of "the ends justify the means."

There were some easter eggs / subtle references to previous Bond excursions : clinic atop a mountain (OHMSS),
train ride and fight scene (FRWL), cable car trap (Moonraker). The romp through the ruins of the MI6 headquarters
was fun!

There's also some acknowledgements of the past Daniel Craig movies and to tie it all together.

The bad was the plotline itself, and the weak attempt to tie it in with
the whole "spying on everyone is bad" current trends thing.
Also found the third act of the movie the weakest of all.

It's Bond, it's supposed to be entertainment.... but I can't help but feel underwhelmed by this installment... ALOT more than Quantum of Solace

I need a good stiff drink and keep em coming.

I haven't been posting or visiting much because this, so far, has been a terrible year.

Back in May, the weekend following mother's day, my parent house went on fire. My Dad went outside when he heard an explosion and found that the garage was on fire. The garage is underneath the kitchen, where my om was. My Dad had left the doors open so when the car in the garage went on fire, all the smoke poured up into the kitchen and my Mom was overcome with smoke. The fireman was able to get there quickly and pull her out before the fire got her, but she had sever smoke inhalation. She was on a respirator for two weeks, afterwards she seemed to be coming around. Unfortunately, she suffered a massive stroke and had passed away July 1st. My father sold the house to the insurance company and with the money had gone back to Hungary to live (he doesn't have the money to stay in the US, and we have alot of family and friends there that can keep him company) and buried my Mom's cremated remains with my Grand Mom and Great Grand Mom. He's doing OK and is staying with his brother till he finds a place of his own. Between the pension he receives in Hungary, and the Social Security payment he gets in the US, he'll be living comfortably there.

Shortly after that we had to put my favorite cat Leo down. He was suffering from a stalled digestive system due to age (he was 17 years).

And two weeks ago my youngest Son Alex (3 years) got the middle finger of his left hand partially amputated when a teacher's aid wasn't paying attention and had closed a heavy steel door on his hand. The doctor was able to reattach it with 16 stitches. So far it looks like he will be able to keep his finger, and it seems that he won't have any negative side effects, thank God.

I'm slowly recovering from this 1-2-3 punch. I have my good days and bad days as you can guess. :(

*pours a couple of liters*

Holy crap Joe that's terrible !!!
Sorry for your loss man and do convey this to your dad too, I kinda know how it feels if there is a sudden death. Hopefully he finds a way to feel at ease again.

Also hope the cat didn't suffer too much sometime its for the better but that doesn't make it less crappy.

Outch hope no side effects for Alex .. lemme check the your address guess he might like some stroofwafels.

Anyway, hope this year stops throwing bad luck your way.
From experience .. takes time but eventually will get better
Now if you read this, get up and give your family a big hug from that Dutch guy. <g>

We got any Nazgul Socks Special kicking around? Yeah, condolences from Canada, Killer. Got any Maple cookies or maple syrup to help smooth things over?

Going to take tomorrow off, then it's back into the plunge of work. I'm still employed, I'll say that much...

We really appreciate it. :)

Slowly things are getting better. The doctor said thefinger should be completely healed in about 6 months. The little guy's a trooper.

Been spending some extra time with my older boy playing on the ps4 and watching anime. We're currently watching Gundam and Slayers. Dubs of course. :)

Heads up to our Australian comrade... I'm doing a return trip down to Brisbane again -- I've sent you the dates and flight details. Now I just have to get off my duff and do the rest of the crap... visa, packing, work before leaving...

Why is it it a vacation has JUST as much work as the rest of life to setup? Where's the "That Was Easy" button I press for this? *Le Sighs*

Tall And Cold, please
