This would take next to all night to read and look through all this material. Then, he’d have the rest of the day to pack up the equipment, ship it back to mainland HQ, and then figure out how he felt about Kaname.

Chidori: Sagara, you're very good at standing at attention, you think Sagara Junior down there could do the same?
Sagara: Sagara....Junior? *takes a look down there*
Chidori: *nods in the affirmative*
Sagara: Oh, you mean an ere....

*dies*

Heh. You're forgetting 2 essential moments in the anime.

Essential, tell-tale moment #1: The train.

Kaname puts her foot up on the bench (to yell at him about the paper and following her) in between Sousuke's legs, and he blushes at getting a look up her skirt.

Essential, tell-tale moment #2 and #3: (*is sickened*) Tessa and the shower

Captain Bimbette gets into the shower and Sousuke hears the water running from the other room. He then frowns and tells himself to "work, work"

Kaname comes over to apologize as CB steps out of the bathroom, and the good Sgt. Sagara is sweating profusely over the situation. If he really had no idea about women, since he can't even think of Tessa as "a friend" when she asks him, the idea of his CAPTAIN coming out of the shower less than dressed, wouldn't have suggested anything of another meaning to his brain. Much less caused him to get nervous about explaining the circumstance to Kaname.

But, I think it showed that 1) Sousuke recognized the innuendo, 2) Sousuke didn't want Kaname to think that was what was going on...why? Probably because he wants to get there with Kaname one day...

Getting a dirty mind and getting aroused are two different things,
as any guy'll tell ya, well, at least me

He may be clueless, but I interpret those two scenes as "it's a girl's
body, I like girls' bodies" but his professionalism could not and
would not let him get together with either Tessa *she is his CO,
after all* or Chidori *she is his assignment* Must keep up
professionalism... it's another job to him, and his desires and personal
feelings be damned from that point on.

Agreed. BUT.

He proved on more than one occasion he could disobey orders for his feelings, at least in Kaname's case. (hijacking)

ALSO, his job is over. So, yes, this whole "he can't have stray thoughts of Kaname's physical attractiveness", was dealt with in scene 1 of ch 2.

*nods nods* EXACTLY what I was thinking of. I love ep 1. It's hysterical, and yet sets the scene for the militaristic side, too. The animation is so well done in that ep. , too. Though Beckster and I were a little disconcerted by just HOW MUCH the boy looks like Heero Yuy in that ep. Especially a la Bambi Takada's doujinshi style.

Anyway, enough yapping from me. I'm trying to get ch 2 finished, and ch 4 rough drafted, AND get down the ideas I had for Falter earlier today.

I feel like such a bum.... Need to be more productive.

I wasn't implying Chidori was unattractive, just.... COULD Sagara
get to the nuts-and-bolts details when the time comes. Well, let's
see how ya deal with it in Ch 2.

After being called an oddball by Katyusha, gun bunny don't seem
so bad an honorific.

'Course, I personally prefer the general description ' very plain,
everyday person who holds the knowledge you seek, just 'cuz he
has free time in life to look it up and commit it to memory' but that's
