How you found....

Post by Jae »

Simple question-

How'd you find full metal panic?
I imagine most people caught the digisubs somehow, somewhere, but I'm still curious.

I'm only gonna share my story after others have shared theirs.

A friend of mine said "you have to see this." So I watched the first episode. I wasn't paying much attention, but I did enjoy it. It always helps to have your favorite voice actor as the lead male. Then our anime club put FMP on the slate for this fall. I am now totally hooked.

Well one one day i decided to follow a step up course in japanese ..
(i'm still stepping up ... )

and i found myself in the presence (i was surrounded an cornered) of anime fans

Well i liked anime for some time .. got a few DVD's but the world of FanSub's / Scanlations was a bit "hidden" for me

So i told some of them that i liked Patlabor .. this got me a heartwarming welcome by them and they told me (forced)
to watch FMP .... then i saw the 1st scene .. and now i'm one of them and i like it ...

edit: ok i misread the question ...

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

You got to watch it on tv?? lucky...
You're not in japan though, right? Satellite?

What made you want to watch it? Just the commercials looked cool?
(should the question be, what drew you to FMP?)

Yup, nope, I'm from the Philippnes, Mabuhay and Shit..., Nope from our local cable operator...

Hmmmmm...... It was because of the 1st episode where Sousuke threw a knife at the hind then hurled it away from the cute looking chick.

The commercials they did look awesome but the 1st epiosde really grabbed me. To sum it up it was breathtaking...

Ah, so lucky to get WOWOW

Here in north CA I could (if I wanted) pay an extra $25 to get a japanese laungauge channel with my cable, but its not anything good, and the price is crazy.

That scene looked so good, the quality- with the forest and explosions- I nearly cried with happiness.

(okay, for episode 6 I did cry with happiness)

Hehe, I may live here but I don't agree with what they're doing all over the place (the us gov)

Gay bars? rofl
I'm moving to the Castro neighborhood, which is where all of that is really located. I don't mind though, it's a really easy going place! I don't really care what other people do, as long as they don't care what I do.

How I found FMP?
Because of trading cards.
I was making an order with Animaxis back in Dec or Jan, and wanted to try out some new card sets. FMP was a card game(susually harder to complete), but the artwork really caught my eye.
(okay, Sousuke looked really cute, so...*cough*...and the girls were cute too! bonus!)

When I got the cards, I was so highly amused by the illustrations I went and got all the books at amazon.co.jp.. (poor sousuke!, but really, half the time he deserves it  )
It was only until after the first dvd was released that I realized there was, in fact, an anime. (how dorky!!!! I'd been going around for a month saying 'they should make this an anime', and they were!)

I'm a newbie (howdy! :)) and I discovered 'Full Metal Panic' when I went to an anime con (Minami 8 in the UK) and they said "By the way, this is the best show of the current season" so I watched it and was HOOKED! :D

Did they show all of it, or just the first few?
Er- also, have you seen it all?

We went to Fanime this spring, and they showed 1-4. It was funny sitting in lines listening to other people talk about it. It was a good experience too...if someone doesn't get hooked on the early action part- they always crack up with the first class scene :):)

They showed the first four eps, which was nice. :) Since then I've seen up to 18. I also own 20 and 21 but because I haven't got 19, I'm refusing to watch 'em. If I watch things out of order, it only hurts my head more than it already does. :D

Yeah that's what happened here. They showed it at a con, and my friend and i laughed so hard... It was good, I got to watch all the eps they were showing before I had to go for the cosplay comp. Lucky me :-D
