The all NEW FMP season 2 INFO thread
- Air date- 4 August 2003
- Channel- Fuji TV
Was suggested WOWOW (again). WOWOW is expected but unconfirmed.
- Production Company-
Kyoto Animation. NOT Gonzo- however much of the staff will stay the same.
- Voice Actors the same?-
Unknown. Is it safe to say probably?
- Relates to Season 1-
Not a direct contiunation(sp). Will be based on the comedy stories, unlike most of the first season. If sticks with the stories as printed, season 2 will not include the international-action flavor the first season had. Will be more high-school romantic comedy-hijinks-misadventures.
There will be new characters introduced. Unknown how much Mithril characters will show up.
Pure speculation- might there be some mild action bits, at least to justify within the story Sousuke sticking around Tokyo? Won't know until we see it if there will be any story blending to make the two seasons somewhat connected.

agentorange- that is why the bit about WOWOW is stated as unconfirmed.
Some of the info that came out several months ago that placed the series as airing in april implied it would be on WOWOW. Then there was no more info, and so all that info was deemed UNCONFIRMED, but it was still all of the info we had.
I can't suddenly make that info disappear based on an email to WOWOW customer service.
grahf- thanks.
I'll add the new info that has hit in the past few days to the first post.
I don't have time to personally go hitting all the japanese sites looking for this info, or the patience to try to sort fact from rumor.
So I appreciate the info donations. I prefer seeing stuff in print, rather than as posted on a forum somewhere, but I'll take what I can get.

Double post, whatever
Regarding the timeline (ie, continue, or different)
The early articles put out in Newtype explicitly point to this season as being school-based. They have all of the freedom in the world to change it a bit or throw other stuff in the mix, and I think the series would benefit from the latter.
But anyone who expects upcoming ep1 to start off where ep24 ended is gonna find themselves self-screwed.
IMO all I really wonder about is if the mutiple seasons fit back-to-front (ie, should be watched in order) or is they stand independantly of each other.

Well, Sousuke, Kaname, Kyouko, Shinji, and Mizuki should all be in the second season.
How much Tessa, Melissa, Kurtz, Kalanin....that we will have to wait and see on.
The avatar is Luna, a character from Langrisser 3, japanese RPG series that was (I think) on the Sega systems. The character designer is somewhat well known for his....uh, ability with designing girls *snicker*
(not to mention his unusual fashion sense )
Too bad I can't recall his name atm.
