ADV Launches Full Metal Panic! website!
Hey everybody,
Just thought I'd let you know we just launched our new website for Full Metal Panic!
The new site is loaded down with detailed information, including release news, summary information, extensive episode notes, character details, artwork, mecha and weapon designs, downloadable content and a series of five different randomly-selected intro (“splash”) pages, each of which contains numerous hidden omake. (Search hard enough and you'll find a link to a certain dictator's website hidden within the site. )
Check it out at: http://www.full-metal-panic.com

Ooh... I like the full colour images of the M9, and a (finally) decent picture of Danaan. And of course, the part about describing Sousuke as an "overprotective lunatic".
*is disappointed due to the lack of anything to do with Mardukas*
EDIT: Almost forgot, love the gun bunny notes. Minor correction on the 40mm Bofors AA gun though. It was typically mounted only on Destroyers and Light Cruisers, and often had to replace torpedo tubes. Larger Battlecruisers and Battleships generally didn't mount them, as they required too much space for the weapon and magazines, which would detract from their primary role.
As a result, most US and Limey Battleships ended up with .50 Cal machine guns and 20mm Oerlikon AA guns instead, though there were a few exceptions to this.

[14:57] Silver Lynxy: Ack. You couldn't see that?
[14:57] Katyusha [Love Through Superior Firepower]: Nope, cant see a thing.
[14:57] Katyusha [Love Through Superior Firepower]: Not using MSN remember?
[14:57] Silver Lynxy: Oh right. You're one of those Trillian people, aren't you?
[14:58] Katyusha [Love Through Superior Firepower]: trillian people? =.= What are we, an ethnicity now?
[15:00] Silver Lynxy: Yes. An evil race.

Gack!
I found it....
I'm quite flattered.
I'm not gonna tell you guys where either, you'll just have to keep going back...and going back...and going back...
Anyway, I think FMP looks great in blue
I've already got a spot for the link in the waiting-to-finish updating pages, now I can fill it in.
It's so nice to finally see some new FMP pics and info too
Suddenly FMP seems all shiny and new again. It looks great!
And there's a link to this forum too....batten down the hatches and prepare to be boarded!

The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

FMP's US release date. Vol.1 came out officially on June 10th, though those who made it to A-kon (Like myself) and those with retailers breaking the street date got it a bit early.ZyreX wrote: Whats this??

Sorry bout that, but there wasn't a whole lot of material available on Mardukas for us to use. We were lucky Gonzo supplied us with that screen capture at the least. And content-wise, I was working from translations of the Japanese Inserts for a lot of the characters, and what I got for Mardukas in those files...Katyusha wrote:Ooh... Richard Mardukas
A Commander in the employ of Mithril and second-in-command of the Tuatha De Danaan, Mardukas is a slender, pale man in his mid-forties. He may look somewhat out of place in his military uniform, but the truth of the matter is that Mardukas is a highly intelligent officer and former submarine captain in the British Royal Navy. He can be quite outspoken of Tessa’s decisions but is unwaveringly loyal to her command, and can be depended on to pull through in case of emergency.
Sousuke is not overly fond of Mardukas, and tends to tighten up nervously whenever he is around.
Wasn't a lot to work with.
Quite true, and those exceptions are my frame of reference, specifically the Iowa class battleships, which mounted a compliment of 60-80 40mm Bofors in around 15-20 quad turret mounts by the end of WWII, along with 50-60 20mm/70 cal. Oerlikons as you pointed out. Though looking through my Warships encyclopedias, the previous classes of US BBs also seemed to have acquired sizeable compliments of 40mm AA cannons by 1945.Katyusha wrote:EDIT: Almost forgot, love the gun bunny notes. Can never have enough Tessa pics... or Chidori pics... Keep checking back for future updates of the site with each volume, as we've still got more FMP goodness to dish out.grahf wrote:needs more tessa pics....
What can I say, your site kept my FMP cravings sustained while I waited for the US production to start up on our end... which I then proceeded to sink my teeth into, as you can tell from the fact that I actually got in all the episode credits. *Cackles* So it’s the least we could do to show our appreciation for your efforts. ...and give the forum’s compliment of Drill Sergeants some fresh cannon fodder to torment as all the newbies attempt to get though Mithril’s intensive Basic Training regimen.Jae wrote:Gack!

*Hides the hand-cuffed and gaged SRT people in the closet*
(After having to deal with the people here, a bunch of SRT guys doesn't seem so tough anymore. )
Well, glad to know that at least *SOME* places hire folks who know what they're talking about when it comes to military notes.
Too bad there arn't too many other groups that I could say the same for.
