From what I can recall (keep in mind that its been awhile since I watched the 1st dvd), she just called him a pervert instead of drawing out his name like she does in the jap version (I'd rather have her say his name than just him being a perv)

And maybe its just me but I don't like the way they have Sousuke pronounce Chidori's name. The way it sounds in the dub seems to be like Chiteri and its spoken too fast. I think I'd rather have him call her Kaname, it sounds better.

Or maybe I'm just being too picky but oh well, we have our own tastes. I still have to finish watching dvd #2.

No, I don't have the wav for that one...I have it for in ep 3 when she swings the bat at him. Ep 3 had the most charas voices in it I think...

Anyhow- I agree about how they are saying 'Chidori' in the dub- I was hearing 'Chiterly' too. And not just from Sousuke's VA...
Maybe it will smooth out a little bit as the VAs get used to it.

As for Sousuke- he always calls her 'Chidori' in the japanese version- he's just that formal. (and she calls him 'Sagara' until ep 8 or so)
They are being accurate when they have him call her Chidori, and all fan-hell would probably break loose if they had him call her Kaname in the dub. ;)
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

Regarding the first paragraph, we can only hope.

As for the 2nd part, oh yeah, without a doubt. I was just saying that for the way he says her name in the dub, I'd rather hear him call her Kaname instead, it'd be less iritating to me.

On Tessa's voice- there is a file for her- it's in the same list the others are in, in the older dub thread...in the post after mine taurec has the files too- see if his work first please

Beckster- yeah, I see...
I know that most dubbing studios, ADV's included, have been more aware of saying japanese names, but it still sounds pretty akward. I'm not sure what sort of direction the actors are given- who is the one responsible for figuring out stuff like pronouncation?

I'm sort of not even sure which is better- localizing difficult names to make them more 'english' or attempts to be accurate that ..aren't
Fandom rebelled against localizing, for good reasons, and now we seem to be in a wierd transition phase.
