Multiple leveled symbol

Please excuse me for acting like an English student, but in the course of my video splicing, I had an epiphany. I was working with the clip near the end of episode seven where Kaname just woke up in the hospital and is looking at Sousuke's photo of his group. I was using it for part of the song that means "I never said thank you, I never said goodbye..."

The picture is a symbol of that on two levels. When his comrades died, he was never given a chance to say thank you or goodbye to them. Also, Mao told Kaname that she wasn't given a message to pass on to the student, hence the same meaning. At that instant, Kaname thought he was never to thank her for pulling his fat out of the fire, nor say goodbye to her. She thought she would never see him again.

Anyone else have any more formal, English class analyses?

Oh god ..... what a saturday.........

But euh, there is still that picture in Tessa's vault in her private quaters.

Besides it's almost a military tradition to keep something personal behind while going on a difficult mission.......
