Volume 5 release date!!!

ADV announced through their catalog that the fifth FMP! disk will be released on November 25, 2003!!

Take this with a grain of salt, but Amazon.com lists volume 2 of the manga as being released in December.

I do remember reading (posting?) something about november- but I can't recall if there was a date attatched or not.

I'm not surprised by a delay or changed date- since they are just starting on the manga..and I think they're also starting up a few other series too (not just azumanga).
Most of V1 had already been translated for the mag. In any case I'm glad it's out of newtype and we're getting 6 or 7 chapter chunks every coupla months instead of a miserable half-chapter every issue.

What are we gonna do when ADV catches up to the japanese release?

i'm just disappointed by the delay... i wanted them to speed it up a bit, and start on the novels too

the first 13 missions have been scanlated anyway, which is vol 1 and most of vol 2 (except mission 14).. i hope volume 3 will follow soon after, like in january maybe

when they catch up to the jap release, maybe they can finally take on the novels.... that would be sweetness

Hey, if volume 5 is coming out on November 25 2003 then how come there is a season 2 out already? ... i'm confused with all of this stuff...or maybe i'm just slow on stuff....>_< eeekkk. Well i hope someone can help me out with this. Thanks.

Volume 2 of them manga series will be released on nov 18, but I have it already I know a owner of a comic/anime store. This one is all action it covers the plane hijacking scene of the anime till the hospital scene where chidori wakes up. Full Metal Panic was released in japan over a year ago, and ad vision is releasing it now at a rate of 1 volume every 2 months with a total of 7 volumes. It takes time for anime to be brought over from japan. If you don't want to wait you can download the fansubs of the series onto your computer off [bleep] for free. Be warned if you don't have dsl or cable you be waiting for days to finish downloading.

SousukeXSagara as for the 2nd series titled full metal panic fumoffu is still airing on japanese tv with 1 episode to go. It started at the end of august of this year with about a week to go till it ends. There is 17 episodes but 2 of them viewers will have to buy because of the content dealing with content about kidnaping which japan has had a rash recently of nearlly 40 kids. So they didn't aire them on tv. I hope this finally helps you understand SousukeXSagara that you can download anime for free and watch it months/years before it comes to america while it still is new in japan. Wooo this is long.

Ok fansubs, if it weren't for the subs i would never come in contact with Full Metal Panic .. and I would have never bought dvd's of a series i don't know. even they are illegal it think ADV Fansubs have an understanding in what good about them .

On this board don't ask where to find them.

Bootlegs

Yeah buy the bootlegs .. support the criminals,

Often the production of bootlegs is used by organised crime to launder money made from selling drugs, pornography and prostitution and to generally expand "business" opportunities.

Just fill in the coupon that came with your bootleg dvd ..
and they might send you a child prostitute to watch the bootleg with ya.

Bootlegs, go for those crappy translations that are being translated from japanese to chinese to english.
and hope they get the names right ....

WOo I'm sorry If I said something that's suppose to be kept secret, but people will eventually find out. Don't worry I won't mention the bleep bleep stuff again. But sometimes the anime industry epecially in america is just asking to be boot-*****. I mean come on they price gouge us to death nearlly 30 bucks a dvd at retail, make us wait months to over a year to release a series (not counting the time it takes them to buy the rights to release it) and put only like 2-3 episodes a dvd so that we have to fork over more cash by making us buy more DVD's to finish the series. Like extras make up for their short comings. And they wonder why people go for the boot-**** they cost 1/5th the price or less, and sometimes are just as good as the official. If they're are not I'm willing to pay for the offical stuff because quality does matter to me. downloading fans subs is great but that just makes me sit in front of my PC way longer in a uncomfortable chair and I'm stuck there.Well that's it for me preaching, I'm can understand both sides but I won't lose any sleep if some greedy rich corperation loses money bcause they see $ while screwing us all over

It's not so much that the reasons for and against bootlegs are a debate here, or that we're trying to keep pirate info secret (that's not possible).

It's more that we appreciate and respect the ADV reps and employees who sometimes stop by, and also I personally do not want this place to become a big launch-pad for anime leechers to come here pretty much only to find the boots. That info is available out there to anybody willing to do a little work, but I'm not going to teach others how to scam the industry (regardless of the ethics of the industry).
