I would agree that over all, the 2nd season's music is better than the first.

The close theme reminds me of Santana. :)

I really like both season's opener... "Tomorrow" more than "Sore ga ai deshou". Other openers and ending songs that I like are from Inu Yasha and Kenshin TV. I'd say "Tomorrow" is probably my favorite anime opener and Inu Yasha's "My Will" is my favorite ending. There's a lot of other songs from other animes I like too.

It's cool that you can see/hear the difference and change in style between different animes. Kenshin's mostly rock that fits the 90's in J-rock. Inu Yasha and FMP is pretty new so they're like hardcore J-pop with a couple of trance/dance songs. Saber Marionette J, Slayer, and Love Hina uses Megumi Hayashibara's style of bubbly sweet J-pop. Naruto and FLCL have kick-ass J-rock songs. Cowboy Bebop does a mix of everything. And Kimagure Orange Road is true to it's decade with the 80's music :).

I think that FmP has the best opener and Rurouni Kenshin has the best closing song. I like Heart of the Sword a lot ^_^, i haven't heard the Inu Yasha one or FLCL one, yet. I'll have to check it out sometime soon!

Yea, "Heart of Sword" is tight. I liked closing animation used with it also, at the start there's that light that flashes to the beat of the song :).

Apparently the band that sings "Heart of Sword", TM Revolution, is (or was) pretty big in Japan.

I think the biggest reason why I like j-pop is that I can't understand the lyrics so it's all about the catchy tunes and a sweet voice. If the lyrics are trite or stupid, oh well, I wouldn't know. At least it still sounds good :).
