A rather suprising fact.

I just bought Newtype USA today from EBworld and was eating lunch at Macca's when I flipped the page and saw that Sousuke was based on a real life person! *spit take* That was rather supprising. Don't believe me? open to page 81 of the December 2003 issue. There you will see it.

2 page spread- Kyoko hanging on to Kaname trying to keep her from leaping out a classroom window at a sweating Sousuke who's... rope climbing.The blurb by Kaname says that if K is based ona real person, Gatou would never want to tell us, he'd want to protect himself from danger.

In the opening sentance of the article, they remind us that FMP is a fictional anime ....
Gatou is quoted "I don't want to cause any inconvience to that person, so I guess I shouldn't blurt it out liket his.... yes, there is a real guy who was the model for Sousuke's character. He was a noncomm. officer for a certain military organization, but at the time he was also attending university in Japan. It was kind of a complicated situation. I'd always hear about the trouble he'd get into trying to live in these two very different worlds, and I'd just bust out laughing. That's where I got the idea for Sousuke. (snip from the article) It turned out that he and I shared many interests. He told me alot of funny stories about how hard his life was. It's true he was a model for Sousuke.. There was something dangerous about him, though. For example, one of the rooms in his appartment was filled with suspicious equipment."

Hayashimizu is also based on one of gatou's high school friends who was also president of the student council. He goes on to explain that most students in student govt are hot headed and passionate, however his friend was different. Quiet with an expansive vocabulary. Gatou's high school is the model for Jindai HS.

Kaname being based on a real person doesn't suprise me in the least. Because when I watch I swear she's me clone or something but with blue hair and a fan to whack people with.

Actually, the article says that Gatou isn't saying whether or not Kaname is based on a real person.

yes, what mal said- the writer is making a joke about how if Kaname were based on a real person, Gatou would be better of not telling. But it's not saying that she is.
