I've got some questions and suspicions about Chrno.

1. What's the origin of the watch that binds Chrno's power? How did Rosette come to have it?

2. Is Chrno able to feel emotion?

I think he does feel them. There's no question he feels loyalty towards Rosette, evidenced by his desire to be by Rosette's side during the test Minister Remington administered to determine her suitableness to join the Millitia. He also cares about her well being when she wanted to release his powers to save Azmaria.

I'm tempted to say Chrno is in love with Rosette, but that could be the romantic in me speaking. She was the only one able to calm him in episode 2, and she's the only one that accepts him on his own merits, not fearing him because he's a devil. (I actually for some reason prefer demon--is it just A-K decided to use devil instead?) He also likes her physically.

3. Why did Chrno forsake Satan in favor of God?

I have the suspicion it has to do with Rosette somehow.

Now on to some other questions I have.

1. Does Rosette have some of her brother's bad luck, as he's an apostle? If she finds him, will she ask to be released from her vows?

She may have his luck, because she can easily level a city block. On the other hand, she has the same way of going against orders and still getting results, like Sousuke has.

She may ask to be released from her vows, as her brother's disappearance is why she joined the order.

2. How long has the Order of Magdala been around?

Devils in the real world is nothing recent, only they're more prevalent when the series is set. Cite--the mind eater that caused 50 deaths in the Civil War. For Father Remington to know that, the order may have existed then, and the records existed. Hmm... maybe that was when the mind eater was captured.

Flashback early on -- ep 1 or 2, I think -- Rosette recalls how Joshua
and her discover Chrno. Then ep 4 or 5 (the battle between Chrno
and Raiel) there's the explanation of how Rosette and Chrno are
bound together, with Chnro getting his powers from Rosette's life(force).

Some stuff hinted at, but considering it's only the first 5 eps (out of 26,
I think?), there's room for ALOT more explanations.

2. Is Chrno able to feel emotion?

There's his unconditional loyalty to Rosette (despite her bad temper
and even worse luck), then there was the scene in the hotel where
he certainly... ahem, enjoyed the view.

1. Does Rosette have some of her brother's bad luck, as he's an apostle?

IMHO, I think her bad luck's just played up for laughs than anything.
They typical way anime casts (Japanese) leads is that they're not
very lucky / successful / skillfull / etc., but they're determined as HELL
and in the end, somehow, they do succeed against expectations -- that
whole 'work hard' spiel...

2. How long has the Order of Magdala been around?

Not sure if there is an official Order of Magdala -- Google
search has turned up Order of Magdala and Order of Mary Magdaline
-- maybe it's more a plot device than anything, considering this is
about a (warrior) nun. I don't study religion, so don't ask me why
I think this is... and when you think about it, how many official female
Christian / Catholic heroes are there for women to follow after besides
Magaline and Joan of Arc? <-- only two I can think of off the top of my head

wierd pretty wierd... i wonder if chrno is gonna turn evil in the end as sumwhere in ep 2 that guy that rosette has a crush on said if anything happen i will hunt him down....

I think he said what it was, his "contractor". I think they are bound together for some reason, and they speak of a promise, of some kind. Rosette also says something about a mission. I personally think Something happened and Rosette needs to do something and needs Chrno's help, so she made a deal with the "devil"(like she needs to get her brother). Or that Chrno revolted agsint the devil because of Rosette and her brother(when they met, they treated him normally, or he didn't like the devil and he quit and they found him), and to live he needed to bind his life to another, rosette(however, during the fight Chrno and Relai are talking about how a promise must be completed and when that happens its over or something like that which goes more to my first explanation).
Just some ideas I had. I personally HATED the first episode, it didn't look every promising, but I was really bored so I got ep 2 and then it got interesting, and then azmaria. I think the series is starting to show promise however, and after only 5 episodes to leave this many questions that can easilly be filled in by plot, its got somewhere to go. However, sorry to dissapoint you but I heard it had 13 or so episodes, someone thought it was impossible, but I think if they really work on the plot then it can finish, or they better have a season 2!

So far I've only heard rumors it's 13 episodes. I've looked around and haven't been able to find anything concrete giving that (or anything else) as the total episode count.

lol, well, I would expect the last episode to end it, but at least soon we might find out, I don't see it as ending then to be honest, I think its impossible. The rate its been going? Its on weekly(next episode this monday, after all the anime's took a break), its either gonna be extremely short lived or someone spread one nasty rumour. But I'm with Arbalest, I want this to live longer than that.

Has anyone seen Chrno Crusade's new opening? The one in episode 6? I just got it from Anime Junkies off of their IRC server(which DLed at 302 kb/s). Its very very good, the song I always liked but now the images are really bad ass with it.So, what does everyone think of it?

Its rather odd, they still havn't released episode 6 when AJ is at ep 7, they probably have a good reason, they used to be the fastest, odd. Ah well, I'm happy as long as the episodes are still subbed. I'm begining to like this series, and man that last episode(7) really advanced the plot a little, I never expected *SPOILER*The main baddy to come out this early in the series, hell inuyasha took like 30 episodes to even know there was a main baddy. Not only that but the things about rosettes brother and the others were rather interesting. Rather plot developing if you ask me.
