More high-res wallpapers from the manga

I've put together a couple of new high-res wallpapers, with more on the way. The ones that are available now are the Kaname pinup from book 4 (Kaname baking cake) and the inside splash page of book 5, showing Mao, Kurtz, and Sosuke together.

I'll have the one with Kaname in mittens up soon, the fold-out type of page spread is absurdly easy to scan and edit

What's a bit harder though is the two page spread of Tessa from book 5... OMG, like 1/4 inch on either side of the spine has to be totally recreated. It'll be worth it though, it's almost exactly the right proportion for a background, and I'm sure all the Tessa guys will be like this ->

Mmmm...
I can get to your website, but when I click on the resolution links to the images, it tells me that I don't have permission to access it. Damn! It's not fair 'cause your wallpapers are so lovely and brilliantly done!

You don't happen to know why this is happening?

Err........... umm......... will have to check it out! Sorry 'bout that, I'll hopefully have it working in a few minutes....

..... ok, I turned off the hotlinking protection, so accessing pictures, even if it is directly, should work for the moment. I'm really not sure why it wouldn't allow you to access in the first place though! I'll work on it some more...

BTW, thank you for the compliments! I was really disappointed in the number of high quality images out there for FMP, so the best (read=only) way to fix it is just to do it yourself

Ah, getting them now. Thanks loads, they certainly will be enjoyed

And thanks for doing them too. I've just recently gotten into image editing and know how hard it can be sometimes.

I've added the backgrounds for the picture of Kaname in mittens. This one suprised me though, and I don't think it edited together as cleanly as Kaname baking. Apparently the bottom half of the picture was a slightly different color, more grey than blue, and it made blending them together REALLY hard. Kaname baking took maybe 15 minutes while this one took a couple of hours.

Since I wasn't going to be able to match the snowy background for the fill, I opted for a gradient that was similar to the picture's own background but hopefully not to conspicuous to the eye.

I'd love to since the Danaan is so awesome, but where would I get the source material? These wallpapers are all from pics in the mangas since that's all I have right now. I have been considering getting this though FMP Film Book - does it have cool pics of the Danaan? Amazon has it for only $14, so I think I'll get it soon nonetheless, but if it does have high quality pics I'll definitely make a nice background or two for you guys

I also found the Shiki Douji artbook and some anime stores are selling it for $25. Can anyone recommend a specific store to buy it from? I think I'll get that one within the next month, it looks so cool..... I could make TONS of nice backgrounds from those pictures!

Are there any other artbooks than those two? That's all I've found online so far.

And for those who like the Tessa pic - I'll try! It might be as long as a month before I can even tell whether it'll be a success or failure though.

Quickie update on the Tessa pic, I'm about halfway done, but the last half is going to be harder than the first. The tones are simpler, but there's not as much similar material to draw from, so sections that should be replaced outright become much more difficult. Anyway, just thought you guys might be interested

I'm a perfectionist, so if anyone can see anything at fault in the finished part, please say so.

No other artbooks....

The Anime Mission is more of a info book, and it's laid out for that purpose (one of those, if you collect artbooks

), but it does have some nice anime style images that aren't screencaps.

However, 2/3rds of the book is non-glossy BW.

I really hope ShikiDouji sees fit to release another illustration collection, there has been some really nice stuff since Colorful Wind.

And I also hope Retsu Tateo also releases a FMP art collection for the manga- there is alot of color work and such released in the serialized comic but isn't included in the tankubon.

But those are just hopes.....

Animebooks is a reliable place to buy from, but high prices. I'm also partial to animecornerstore.com for other anime things, but their prices for artbooks are through the roof

So usually amazon.co.jp for artbooks....
