Sorta skimmed over half the posts - will read later. For now:

Lambda Driver on the Dannan (my 2 cents):

SPOILERS START
Here's an objective analysis:
- Tessa designed the Daanan (and hence the control system)
- Tessa is whispered
- When two whispered share resonance, they can lose all/part of themselves
- Chidori is whispered
- Chidori shares resonance with Tessa
- Chidori shows an odd precognition of Tessa's prized possession (photo)
- Chidori can now control TDD's Lambda Driver (which Tessa designed, and likely used at some point)

SPOILERS END

Hmmmm, highly suspicious... Wondering if any of you thought the same as I did.

Behemoth's LD didn't fail, it just weakened because Takuma was losing focus when he was closing in on Tessa. He quickly states "GOTTA CONCENTRATE! or focus" or else the LD would have failed

Spoiler:

Um the Behemoths LD failed. Sousuke shot out the LD's cooling system, which lead to its failure.

what if the unit on the didanan was simply part of a LD (like a keybord) but instead of being conected to a full LD (computer) it was wired in to the AI alowing chidori to take over the AI instead of blowing stuff up.
as for the bahemith that unit like al LD equipted arm slaves had the same problem (exsept for Arbilast?) they over heat very easly when soususke took out Behemith he distroid the cooling system and so the LD fried it's self
as for the LD the unit apears to be able to make it's own laws of phisics

Terran Empire's post translated:
terran empire wrote:What if the unit on the Daanan was simply part of a LD (like a keyboard) but instead of being connected to the full system, was only wired into the AI (giving Chidori partial access)? As for the Behemoth, that unit (like all LD-equipped arm slaves) had the same problem that they overheat quite easily (exception being Arbalest?). When Sousuke took out Behemoth he destroyed the cooling system and so the LD got fried.

As for the Lambda Driver itself, it seem to work on its own laws of physics.
Good points in there terran, but ffs man, this isn't a chatroom... Can't you take an extra 5 minutes to make sure your post isn't full of really simple mistakes? :?

That was much better than usual for him, Eidolon, if you didn't notice...

No, I wasn't talking about the end. Rewatch the episode. There is a part (very brief) in the middle where he has to keep focus because the LD structure integrity was failing

I remember that. :)

If he lost focus, then the LDs wouldn't fail or weaken, but rather they would stop holding the mech together since it is the pilot's will that makes the LDs do what they do. Since the Behemoth (or Goliath, dunno remember where it was refered to as that, but it was somewhere) had multiple LDs, the pilot had to be able to concentrate on several thoughts simultaniously. It would sound like the person would need to be on speed to handle it. In this case, he was probably suffering from a viloent mental disorder (he did kill his own sister) that allowed him to be able to handle the mulitple LDs. Which would also explain why he needed to take pills to keep him calm, and the lack of them caused his outburst at the airport.

Don't forget Seina's line "You're the only one that can pilot it".

Yes. Something to reinforce my point. Only certain ppl can use LD...

I think anyone CAN use a lambda driver, it's just Takuma was the only one that could use it with a degree of success... (in the same way as anyone can fire a gun, but whether they can hit anything is another matter)

Hmm... okay.

My point wasn't exactly 'only some ppl can use LD'. It's more like 'some ppl are more capable of using the LD than others...'. Can I suggest that ppl who use the LD at a nearly undetectable level be considered negligible?

Erm, yeah. Anyone can use it, but verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry few people are actually potent enough with the LD system to turn it into a veritable weapon.

I also want to make a thread to discuss the Tessa-Chidori thing in the last few eps more... *will go do so in veteran section later*

SSS: No, anyone can be trained to use an LD. He was the only one able to **PILOT** the Behemoth. (Seina never said ANYTHING about the LD) Since he was the only one that was:

1) Trained (no one else in A21 was trained to pilot that AS. Seina was only trained to use the RK92).
2) Sufficently screwed up in the head to have no hesitation of violent acts, no second thoughts, and be extreamly hyperactive.

This DOESNOT mean that in general you have to be a special person. You dont need to be special at all.

The LD is just like any device. With sufficent training, anyone can use it. Someone can be more edept at learning how to use it, but all that will allow is that person to learn faster, not better.

So is the LD a machine that lets you have ESP powers?
