#17 Vanessa's having second thoughts about her actions last ep...
but Madlax reminds her that dying is a failure to live. Vanessa also
gets her (first?) taste of combat as two sides duke it out and kill each other...

DAMN! just WHAT makes Madlax tick on the battlefield? LETHAL LADY!!

Dawn: a connection between Vanessa and Margeret will be drawn, perhaps
I should prepare myself HUH?!

Sniper-babe (who after 17 eps STILL doesn't have a name) is as stubborn
about Madlax as ever....

Seems Enfan hasn't been idle either. Madlax and Vanessa
are framed for an attempt on the life of the King. On hearing this, Margeret
gets it in her head she's going to Gazth-sonika to find Vanessa. Carousser
'joins' Margeret and Elinor on this little trip, calling the similarities of
their seats, flights and hotels as coincidence.... yeah, right buddy. And
I got some great beachfront property in Iceland for ya too!

Searching for a safe place to hide, Madlax finds out her one remaining
ally SSS has sold them both out... but hey, he just wants to live, and when
this is over he still wants to work with her again... nice....

...just pray one of Madlax's bullets doesn't have SSS' name written on it
at the end of this

Flashback of last ep of Madlax and Flidy: the words of awakening...
and how Madlax need more words...

ACTION TIME AGAIN!!! Madlax pulls the shoot backwards without
looking trick and starts a MAJOR firefight with the Royal Forces. Sniper babe is just about to
take both Madlax and Vanessa out until Madlax offers her something
irresistable: You can see the truth, too, since you're that kind of person.
Sniper-babe's got some thinking to do, but if her and Madlax ever
team up, DAMN!!

To close: Madlax and Vanessa in one car, Elinor, Margeret and Dawn in
another pass each other going in opposite directions... what are the odds...

Vanessa: "tell me how to use a gun" NICE!!

Reticia: "Don't Die. Live." Some words to live by

#18 Sniper-babe sentimental moment: "What an illusion" As she recalls her
life and what she's done. Vanessa in the meantime gets ready for her
first 'lesson' with Madlax on firearms. Wish I had that kind of ammo
stockpile to blow off in my spare time

Vanessa's associate Winston joining the search. Not much help all around,
but what kind of help do you expect for a pair of 'most wanted women'
in a country treaing itself apart...

Rimela. FINALLY the Sniper-babe gets a name... or was it I just finally
noticed now In any case, she's starting to break free of her flase world.
Or as she puts it to her (former) CO: "I'm not clever enough to live in a
false reality." Next on her s**t list: Carousser Dawn....

Elis letters: a language created by a different civilization which shows no
resemblance to the 4 great ancient civilizations... euh.....

Madlax & Nahal (woman who tried to steal Margeret's book) 1st meeting,
and Madlax is at an disadvantage. Split-scene fight... short on action,
but VERY enjoyable!

Nahal: You're different. Madlax: Don't deny my existence.

Margeret: but we need to find a criminal organization person

Which leads to Madlax's and Margeret's FIRST meeting in the flesh!!
Euh, they don't recognize each other? Or.....

EXPECTING GREAT THINGS FROM HERE ON IN!!!

#19 Oh, I'm hoping... I'm SO hoping... Opens with a lesson about guns
Sousuke would recognize: never neglect on maintenence Figures....

...as Elinor, Margeret and Vanessa get reunited. Awwwwww!!
Madlax somewhat confused as to who Margeret is, and
more inportantly, who she herself is. Vanessa gives her two friends a
quick recap of what she's discovered in Gazths-sonika, and her resolution
to fight to get a hold of of the truth, and survive. And Margeret will
stay right here Yep...

Madlax gets a flashback to Eric Gillian and his search for Secondary.

...and Margeret just HAS to join in, becuase she wants to know the truth.

Kuanjiitta Malice and Nahal: "It's been almost 13 years since the day
the gate was opened. The time is nearing, and I feel it." This will be
explained sometime, right? Gate to what?

As they drive thru the freefire zone of Gazth-sonika, Madlax is drawn to
the similarities of situations between her and Margeret. So there IS a
deeper connection between the two? Vanessa & Elinor find some surprise
in the '12 years since' reference. Even more telling, Margeret: "I know this place...."

Leading up to HOPEFULLY some action: Rimelia has only one thought on
her mind: Madlax. Carousseur Dawn burns something down to a maniacal
laugh, and you just KNOW he's up to no good.

[cue action music] Aaaaaaaand....

Was almost disappointed here. Our four intrepid girls in a tropical forest
being hunted by armed military-types... what are their chances?
Never mind their preparedness for silence and stealth movements... So,
Madlax decides to go on herself.

Margeret: "is that person going to kill ppl?" Ummm... take a wild guess.
Vanessa: "No, she's goinh to fight to surive..." same thing, different words
lady.

Madlax: "I have another reason I can't die now" I'm dying with anticipation
to find out what....

FIREFIGHT TIME!! And DAMN is it one
HELL of a free-for-all. Usual Madlax tactics and poses... I'll bet she cuts
quite the moves on the danceroom floor But seems Madlax isn't alone
in the battle, Rimelia's in on things her usual... style with the words "I
wont' let you guiys interfer. She's mine." Yup... QUITE the duo those two

...just as Margeret et al's about to be shot...

...Nahal jumps in the fray... what she brings a KNIFE to a GUNFIGHT?!
And her boss is "the one who watches over time." Now WHAT is THAT
supposed to mean?!

Carousser's on his own tangent, going to face down Fliday for possession
of the book. A bit of dissent in the ranks, I see...

The four are taken to meet Kuanjitta Malice in person AND SOME
ANSWERS ARE FINALLY PROVIDED!! There is a three volume set
of books able to open a 'gate' to a special place, supposedly where you will find true kindness and
warmth. A place where you will find out what you are supposed to be.
All thru the series, this is where both Poupee and Reticia have been living.
Yep... now why doesn't that surprise me?

The three books are Farstari -- in the possession of Enfan, Secondary
-- in possession by Margeret, of course, and Thirstari -- which Kuanjitta
herself holds.

So having heard this, Margeret's determined to get the remaining volume
and find the answers she's seeking... but it seems Madlax herself is alittle
reticetent in coming along. What, you don't want your own answers there?

EDIT:Recap info: Gazth-sonika's civil war began when the
three books were opened. The late Fliday Monday got his hands on all
three books and opened 'the gate' seeking something, and this is the
result.... hmmm....

Elinor: I can become invincible for Margeret. No s**t lady!

Rimela bathing by moonlihght... just WHAT cliff of sanity she jump off of?

Margeret to Madlax: "You're a kind person." Madlax to Margeret: "A kind
person doesn't kill."

Madlax goes to see Kuanjitta in private, who again pronounces Madlax
doesn't have the talent, but was involved in the incident 12 years ago
and has seen 'the place:' Elda Taluda. Least THAT'S finally explained

Moment where the link between Madlax & Margeret is shown
again as they ponder the books and their pasts. A hint is revealed as well:
Madlax & Margeret WERE together as children. For some reason, Richard
was after Madlax who kept repeatedly telling him to stop, while Margeret
kept egging him on. Madlax shoots him dead while Margeret looks on.
I can't help but wonder.... is there more to the connection between M & M,
perhaps biologically even...

Reticia-ism of the Day #1: I am a moment of time. A thought that was
left behind. That is the truth.]

Rimela: I like you... Madlax Yep, she's gone off the deep end!
Madlax in a rare tender moment crying. Awwwwww!! As a
Silent Scope-like battle breaks out of sniper rifle v. pistol at 10 feet!
CAAAATFIGHT!!! Euh.... who's keeping score here?

Partial revelation of Carossuer's desires, but not his motives. He lives
up to the promise to get the 1st book to Margeret to get to 'the place'
so he can recover the memories and truth lost 12 years ago. Yeah...
now WHY don't I quite believe ya buddy?

....as Madlax and Rimela go in WAAAAAY close!! Rimela: "By killing you,
I can continue to exist." Madlax: "We could've been friends"
"We could've hugged each other"

Guess Madlax isn't as invulnerable as the prv eps have made her out
to be as Rimela draws a bead on her.... euh, fatal? Madlax: "Find (Margeret)....
Because she's.... the key to all this I'm guessing?

No pressure on Margeret of course, what with Carousser and Kuonjitta
breathing down her neck to basically get on with things. Hey, we ARE
in the homestretch here. Margeret of course wants to see Vanessa
and Elinor, but Enfan's after her and knows she has Secondary in her
possesion.

Go figure: Fliday ain't dead.... yet. Why didn't I see that coming?

Reticia-ism of the Day #2: "You're getting closer to the truth. But you
can't get it yet."

Next time: journey to the wonderful land of Elda Taluda, courtesy of
Margeret.... tickets only start at the cost of your life

Fell behind a bit, hope I can catch up. A onehour special of nrs 21 and
22 NICE!!!

#21 Carousser Dawn's lives just as fake a life as everyone else in the
story -- Rimelia, et al -- and is REALLY driven to find out the 'true him.'

Kuanjitta helps Margeret ready to open the door. "[Margeret] Your eyes oversee
time as well. The Words of Awakening."

Margeret: "Elda Taluda"

"The Words of True Nature"

Margeret: Sarkus Sark

"The Words of Truth"

Margeret: Ark Arkus

Elinor, who's been quite frantic up until now over Margeret's safety in
the whole matter, arrives in time to see Margeret disappear in a flash
of light. As she puts it to Vanessa, 'Ms Margeret has gone to a world
unknown to us." Madlax in a trance / stupor, is able to see into the journey
Margeret & Carousser are taking.

Carousser: we met twelve years ago. That's why we have the ability to open the gate

Reticia: You mustn't come here, since you cannot reach the truth yet

Margeret suddenly gets second thoughts, but Carousser is determined
ever more to get the truth. and BOY does he -- and the audience -- get
the truth.

Poupee? on a plane on the way to Gazth-sonika. Onboard, he meets
a young Margeret with a doll, and her mother. Enroute, Fliday Monday
performs the ceremony to open the door, which creates a supernatural
storm that crashes plane. Poupee and Margeret are the only survivors,
and they have to run their way thru the battlefield that has become
civilwar-torn Gazth-sonika. Later on, they meet Colonel Burton, aka Madlax,
who's meeting with Fliday over one of the books -- the key to
becoming human, as Fliday puts it. Margeret rushes over calling 'Father,
Father,' but ends up getting caught in the crossfire, and her red shoes
slip off. Colonel Burton's bloodstains end up all over Secondary, and
Fliday takes a shot to the face -- three things explained nicely in one scene!!

Reticia: if you open the doors, your existence will disappear

...but Carousser MUST know, and he pays for it with his existence.
He wanted to protect Margeret even if it meant his death. If there's ONE
THING I HATE!!, it's the antagonist redeeming themselves before dying

Gloating over Carousser's body, Fliday explains Carousser's true existence:
he was merely an existense of your will to survive, that took shape and form
by borrowing the powers of that place. Doesn't QUITE explain the
age discrepancy between the two, but...

"...and if you find out the truth, you disappear." What'd I say about
the price of admission to the place? Any volunteers?

Meantime, we're thrown for ANOTHER spin as it's revealed Madlax (female)
was Margeret's father.. that is the truth. WHAT??!?!?!?

#22 In possession of the three books again, Fliday has another of his
twisted gloat sessions Recitica appears and asks "are you going to repeat it again?"

F: "Just a lingering scent?"

R: "Do you enjoy carnage that much?"

F: "I am trying to leave ppl to a place not controlled by consciousness"
(with these three books) Errrrm, someone tell him he doesn't have everything
as, "the truth's on the other side"

Madlax QUITE skimply dressed for the morning and Vanessa & Elinor quite.... close

Madlax can sense Margeret's presence nearby. "Probably because I'm
the same as her"

Rimelda back in the thick of things: "Now I can see her again."

...and just when I thought Madlax wouldnt't get any more action scenes:
she walks RIGHT into a firefight and starts kicking butt. "Is that her
true skills?" Umm....

Margert starts piecing together what happened the day her father was
shot and she met Madlax for the first time as she's captured by a soldier...
errr, that screaming wouldn't be Margeret getting mad at him now, would
it?

Rimelda: "Madlax, I'm going to kill you!" Well, she gets to the point,
I'll give her that!

Vanessa has a face-to-face meeting with Fliday. He picks up on her
obsession to know what happened with her parents. He offers her this
information in exchange for the missing page out of Secondary. Seems
Vanessa's parents fought the impulse (to fight), a foolish action in Fliday's
view, and they paid for it -- flashback of them getting arrested on trumped
up charges.

Madlax almost playing with Rimelda as she tries to draw a bead on her -
least she's using a machine gun this time and not a sniper rifle. Madlax
has become aware of her existence, so she can fight with Rimelda on
better than equal terms. NICE MOVES, LADY!!!

Fliday uses the words of awakening on Vanessa: relives parents' arrest.
Madlax comes upon this and challenges Fliday with the words "I will kill
you!" PLEASE!! DO!!!!

Just as things heat up, Rimelda gets into the fight, Vanessa regains
herself and shoots Rimelda off a cliff. But a happy ending it's not to
be today, kiddies. Vanessa and Madlax in a field of flowers: I want
to protect my friends as well as find out about my parents. Margeret,
Elinor... and you, Madlax. AWWWWWwwwwww!!
NOOOOOOOOO!!! I _HATE _ the deaths of major chars right near the
end when it serves no purpose!!!

// goes on a rampage on the collective Madlax creative staff

Margeret comes upon the scene, and misinterpreting things loses it,
utters the words "Sarkus Sark," shoots Madlax off a cliff, and utters
the words "Ark Arkus."

I DON'T want to give up this series, but after an ep ending like THIS!!!!

Well, it was available, but after what happened last ep, which I'm STILL
pretty peeved at.... I get the sneaking suspicion the final ep for this series
is going to be a major letdown

#23 It's official, Vanessa's dead -- as if Elinor discovering her body in the
woods isn't enough proof for doubting Toms. Fliday in control of Margeret,
and Reticia wants an unnamed person -- Margeret or Madlax -- to realize
the truth A-SAP.

When Madlax awakens that night, she notices she has no wound from
when Margeret shot her. Just WHAT is up with THAT?!?! It ISN'T a dream,
but....

Nahal enters the scene and has alittle heart-to-heart with Madlax, basically
pushing her towards making the right? decision. Madlax takes some convincing,
tho: "I'm just not good at living Can I disappear now?" Seems Nahal
may have overstepped her bounds for someone who's only supposed
to watch. As she apologized to Kuanjitta: "I am drawn into her"
Ohkay!! Loaded meaning there!!

Reticia: "They are getting closer to the truth. Soon, I will return to my old self."
So who is Reticia a mirror of in that 'other' world? Margeret, Madlax,
or someone we haven't considered yet?

Fliday doing the father-and-daughter with Margeret. CREEPY!!
KILL THE BASTARD ALREADY!!!

Madlax action scenes... sans music tho. Elinor joins in the fun, but not
as supermaid

...or not, she handles that machine gun on the boat not too badly

Rimelda still in the background and not quite gone... yet

Fliday and Margeret: you are very close to the true nature of humans,
even without opening the gate. That's one VERY scary dude!! But
just what is hiw goal? Somehow a world engulfed in warfare seems
too mudane for a guy like him...

Madlax and Elinor have a brief moment together, and Elinor asks what
connection, if any, Madlax has to Margeret, other than that name they
both remember from their past. Madlax can't explain it, but she feels
she and Margeret are connected. Hope this is explained by the end....
or quicker

FINALLY! Madlax action WITH music!! NICE!! Go GIRL, GO!!
As Madlax is now teamed up with Elinor to save Margeret.

...tho according to the preview and some discussion forums, Elinor's the
next major char to bite the bullet... literally Since WHEN
is this about killing off your chars one bye one, anyways?!?!? GRRRRR!!!

finally caught up to ep 23 .. and damn i guess it was inevitable.

It just seems that everyone who actually does find out the "real" truth just dies..

it's like they lost a goal that justified their existance.

So this can go both ways .. Madlax does find out and dies
or having made a promise will keep her alive. (but we all know how those b'stards love to end a anime)

You just got to love the music that accompanies some of the scenes.

#24 After the dual pissoff's of missing my stop on the way home and
finding out my internet was on the fritz... did I really want to?

Quick flashback to Elinor and Vanessa -- yes, she's dead. Do you REALLY
have to rub it in?! So what is Margeret to Elinor? Her reason to
live? Or something... else?

Kuanjitta: Madlax, the name of the man that stopped Fliday from fulfilling
his wish. So who must be sacrificed to stop history from repeating itself?

A quiet morning, all the army boys sleeping in.... and Madlax steps
onto stage dressed in.... a white dress and red shoes!
and starts cutting up the competition in her usual manner. NICE!! Least
they didn't leave me clamoring for more action... yet.

Madlax: a woman who cannot die... that's who Madlax is.
Yep... I'll come get some, DEFINATELY girl!!

Fliday: I will intoxicate myself on the voice of the girl, then head for that place...

Reticia-ism for the day as Madlax and Rimelda exchange their guns
"By taking another's life and by throwing away your life, you confirm
each other's existence. Humans are such sad living beings, but I have
a soft spot for that."

Elinor That is my... wish So we, going to see supermaid in action again
before Elior kicks the inevitable bucket?

Pistols at 20 paces for Madlax and Rimelda. Seems the best they can
do to each other is shoot off random strands of hair. Uh-huh...

Elinor shot in the back after a few martial arts moves

Madlax to Rimelda: "Please watch me till the end. I want you to
remember me, my existence. Don't forget me. Please let me stay
inside you."

Rimelda: "I just can't beat her... that was like a love confession"

Elinor on her last breath finds Margeret in a field of flowers... but
Margeret has no recollection of her. Margeret: "All you're doing is
living. That's the same as you being dead."

Margeret inflicts the words of awakening on Elinor, and we see how Elinor
is so inflexible in her ways and existence... she's given up everything to serve Margeret. Does her True Nature reflect love? Or hatred? Margeret returns to herself...

...and Elinor FINALLY dies, calling Margeret her family. Recitica very sorry
towards Elinor... REALLY KA-WAAAA-II flower scene between the two as
Elinor lies at rest in a field of flowers.

Seems FLiday's hold on Margeret's broken as she realizes Elinor is dead.

So the Preview doesn't give much away... I'm suspecting there'll be a
final showdown between Margeret and Madlax v. Fliday... or is his control
over Margeret and the books more than he's letting on? And where does
this leave Rimelda?

ANSWERS! I DEMAND ANSWERS!!
