*ROFL* That is So. Funny! Though I did end up posting the original sketch on my website after all. I like to post the process, and drawing her nude was part of the process... This is the link to the page about that drawing, and this is the link to the page on all my FMP drawings.Taurec wrote:yeah plain nude is boring ... god gave men eyes to undress women with anyway ..
That's a really fun scene with them splashing around in the fountain, and though I don't think that particular drawing could be adapted for that scene, it could definitely be something like it. Sousuke's eyes might look like this -> *LOL*dd wrote:That drawing could be converted into the one where's she's all wet with her blouse clinging to her. I can picture Sousuke's face.
What have you sketched out?
The sketch I put together last night is here. I think I'll do a couple more scene sketches, try to get their reunion shot angles worked out (second page of this scene), then run the poll.
As for more fan service drawings - count on it, whenever I need to get away from working out some frustration or another they're an easy way to take a break. Though I might disappoint the guys (but please the girls!) by trying my hand at some Sousuke fan service.... Guys are so much harder to draw though! To draw a guy looking sexy requires a much better understanding of anatomy, since with girls long hair and curves can cover a multitude of errors...

Eeeeee.... I feel all warm and fuzzy inside from all the comments *sharkish tendencies fading slightly....* The best way I can thank everyone is to.... create more artwork! (see below)
To dd specifically, so I guess that means that my quotes and comments and stuff about your story are ok? Oh that's so good, because I'm kinda fried at the moment and can't think about changing anything.... (there should be a smilie with bags under it's eyes...) Thank Andrei for it, I read his whole fic in one eye-burning marathon and now it's like.... dawn.... *wobble*
To squeeze out one LAST post before I crash - I finished inking Kaname's morning stretch, as I've begun to think of the picture. It really isn't any different from the sketch except it looks cleaner. I did make the like thickness more varied in this one because the picture is absymally simplistic and needs something. (though looking at the little pic I made for the web, you can't really tell too much... *sigh*) It might be suprising, but this picture is only about halfway through it's touch up the lines phase, but I knew for the size I wanted to put up on the web for the inked version a lot of editing wouldn't make a difference in how it looks.
Link to larger picture here.
Time to go collapse.... see sleep is also useful, unconscious is a great way to wait for chapter 17 to be finished.... *sharkish dreams dancing in her head*

..... eep! dd da devil is back!! *shiver*shiver* Well, after reading that I suddenly felt "inspired" to draw! *LS1 swims around da devil and splashes up an idea sketch* This would be the main panel of a manga page, I haven't quite figured out what the other panels around it might look like, or how to solve the-sketch-is-landscape-but-manga-are-portrait orientation problem, but it'll be a challenge for sure. (a mushy challenge though!!!) Any and all details are subject to heavy change - like, for instance, their clothes form and wrinkles which I basically just threw on there to get some idea of what to do.dd wrote:Well... that's a good... start... Shoe's on the other fin now, sharks.I finally got my fanart page put together
Watching as they circle, I can wonder whether or not to launch a depth charge, or simply toss a few harpoons (in the spirit of the Olympics, naturally)
Of course, I might hold off if there was some more artwork to look at...
/EDIT - The improved version of this pic. I've also highlighted the important parts you see.....
I've also gotten some progress on the second page of the "reunion" sketch, to where the characters don't look totally idiotic anyway. Once that and this page are more to the "manga page concept" stage then I'll be ready to run my little poll and start taking pictures to the finish stage. It's been quite a challenge putting together several sketches at once, but I'm enjoying it!

Gorgeous work, woman22980. Nice and risqué (*has one more day before she turns legal*), not to mention beautifully-drawn. It's times like these that I wish I could draw, but then I realize that I'm terrible and just sit back and enjoy work from talented artists like yourself.
Keep up the great work; I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I have to say it now because the forum might be down tomorrow!!Anysia wrote:(*has one more day before she turns legal*)
Oh trust me, NO ONE gets to see my suck a$$ work, (and there is plenty of it!) that's why I have this false image of being a halfway decent artist.... But yeah, drawing just takes practice! If there's something that you'd like help with I'll certainly try my best! Start up a new thread with your work and we'll have a look, if you'd like.Anysia wrote:It's times like these that I wish I could draw, but then I realize that I'm terrible
As a general comment on getting better - I've got a book called Anatomy for the Artist (or 'The big yellow book') but you can use really any photo book of people in interesting poses. With either the Anatomy book or a photo of a person (preferrably in as little clothing as possible, when you're trying to learn anatomy and proportions clothing only gets in the way) try to draw out as exactly as possible what you see. Or trace it! There's no crime in tracing artwork to learn from it. But whatever you draw, think to yourself things like "A person's elbow goes down to their waist", "a person's forearm is as long as their shoulder to elbow", "a person's hand should be able to cover their face, and men's hands are a little larger"....
Something else that I found REALLY helps me learn to draw something is what I call gridding it. Basically draw out the basic lines of the figure, then cover it with contour lines as though it was a computer rendering. I've done this on two animals, and I've also done it in figure drawing class (though I can't find those drawings, dammit)
The more recent eagle head is here
And the older, but perhaps better, horse head is here
So.... *looks around quickly, no authors in sight!*..... wanna be a lemon shark??? I don't think we have an official LS3 yet.....

@ woman22980
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Now I have to figure out just what exactly will be different about eighteen...
As for art...my stick figures are lopsided. I can write fairly well (though my one foray into FMP fic I'm hardly proud of) but art... *shudders*
One day when cultnirvana was in the middle of artist's block, I tried to cheer her up with my...um...talents:
And that's why I like to appreciate the work of people who actually have talent.
@ dd
Don't worry; I probably won't be half as aggressive in hounding your fics, mainly because I'm in the middle of a six-month-long continuous writer's block myself and don't want to risk forcing you into a block.
Cultnirvana, on the other hand...well, she's my best friend, so I can do whatever I want.

Mm, I'd love to! Just as long as cultnirvana doesn't stop speaking to me because I've allied myself with the "enemy". *laughs*So.... *looks around quickly, no authors in sight!*..... wanna be a lemon shark??? I don't think we have an official LS3 yet.....

Umm... it's a lot closer to 20? My friend just turned 24 and I asked her if it felt different. She said "No, but 30 is looking a LOT closer now...." (not to mention that at 24 my hairs are going grey! GREY!! I'm not that old, I shouldn't have GREY HAIRS!! If they'd all just stay red, or ALL go grey I wouldn't care! *stress*stress*)Anysia wrote:Now I have to figure out just what exactly will be different about eighteen...
More FMP fanfic??? Can we see???Anysia wrote:though my one foray into FMP fic I'm hardly proud of
I hereby pass on to you the name Lemon Shark 3! (or LS3 for short) Mwahahahaha!! The pack grows stronger.... and stronger!!Anysia wrote:Mm, I'd love to! Just as long as cultnirvana doesn't stop speaking to me because I've allied myself with the "enemy". *laughs*
Oh yeah, with an outlook like that, you were a shark before you were even initiated! *LOL*Anysia wrote:Cultnirvana, on the other hand...well, she's my best friend, so I can do whatever I want.
Awww..... You're just saying that because I flatter you.... (inbetween gnawing on your leg) but thank you (sincerely) (And just think, now we have three lemon sharks, so there's enough to gnaw on your legs AND arms!)dd wrote:Now, who gave you THAT impression? Mm...if I get brave enough to put up a link to it. I wrote it without very much experience in the fandom, so I'm still very leery about it. If I do manage to pluck up the courage, though, I'll be sure to create its own thread.woman22980 wrote:More FMP fanfic??? Can we see???
I just felt a chill run down my back for some reason...and I liked it.woman22980 wrote:I hereby pass on to you the name Lemon Shark 3! (or LS3 for short) Mwahahahaha!! The pack grows stronger.... and stronger!!

Please do. We all need more FMP fics. I'll go look up some courage on E-bay. Wait there.Anysia wrote:Mm...if I get brave enough to put up a link to it.
