Fumoffu On DVD?
Any info? I heard that AdvFilms bought it or something, but anyone have any dates on when it'll come out in US?

Yes ADV has it, but no dates yet.
If they want to get the first volume in the xmas cycle and ride the tail end of the first series, they'll release it by late Nov. If not, then there is usually a release slowdown, when fewer titles come out, until springtime.
AFAIK their most recent dates release is for titles coming in September, I'll keep my eyes open for their October list.
They don't give release estimates or dates until they have the DVD ready for reproduction. They have fewer delays because of it. But it could be coming soon, or it could come next year.

The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

Uh, not in a Fumo dvd thread, however.

Folks, we have a date. May 10th.
Here's a link to the press release as seen on AnimeNewsNetwork.
Here's an excerpt of particular interest, highlighted for emphasis:
"Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU is only the latest face of the Full Metal franchise, which includes the original prose novel, two successful manga series, and the first hit anime series ADV Films brought to America in 2003."
Does that imply that ADV or some other publisher is translating the novels into English? Or is it simply wishful thinking on my part?

Fumo's shipping
animeten is shipping the dvd.
TRSI is also reportedly shipping the dvd/box even though their page doesn't currently say that.
And more will probably begin to get theirs in stock this week.
This probably won't show up on retail shelves for another 2 weeks, but many online retailers ship before street date.

I snagged myself a copy today at Best Buy.
I have mixed feelings about the English translation. I think Sousuke did just fine, though, the dark and scary side of his personality is more convincing in Japanese.
Some of Kaname's lines felt unnatural to me. Lucy from Charlie Brown came to mind at points. Which seems odd to me since I thought she did a great job in the first season. For the most part she did pretty good though. Still... Kaname has a pretty unique personality. And some of humor in the things she says is in how she says it. Some of those things just don't seem to work in English, so they usually left them out. I think that takes something away from the humor, but there's not really anyway to work around that when dubbing.
There's some extra scenes that I didn't see in the fansubs. Like in the first episode right after the first scene with the vice principle complaining to the principle about Sousuke, there's a brief scene with Sousuke talking to Tessa over a radio communication. I don't think that was there before.
