Speaking for myself, I won't tire of watching the SxK antics of FMP!
and FMP!F anytime soon, but personally I think there is more to their
relationship than Sousuke doing something stupid and Kaname pulling
out her halisen in reaction. I'm sure my fellow ficwriters want to be able
to explore the full range of emotions of both chars, and of all the chars in
the FMP!(F) universe besides humor: happiness, saddness, thoughtfulness, loss, etc.
You can only carbon-copy a personality for so long before it becomes repetitive.
The trick is finding (your own) balance.
And I think Avlor hit on a very good idea: try writing a fic of your own,
not necessarily a fulllength one, a shortstory / spamfic is a great way to
get your feet wet. Otherwise, there is a group fic that ANYONE is more than
welcome to revive and continue.
...and I'm sure more than one ficwriter's always up for ideas to be tossed
out for consideration of a storyline
Regards

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

I'd agree with Anysia. While my fic is probably one of the hardest to support, writers (if they so choose) have a duty to ATTEMPT to keep the Characters, in Character. Following Canon is a little harder, (screwed THAT up) but as long as the fic has the spirit of the emulated work. Furthermore, one of the reasons people write Fan Fiction is to either create an additional plot line, or fill in gaps, or to have fun. The mush and sentimentality is a gap that needs filling (and people like reading it). You should deffy do something short first, otherwise you overextend yourself and then get stuck (like I did with Ruckus in Munich).

Welcome to the board.
Now what are you specifically complaining about here?
about us doing what to whom?
Id like more specifics before I or some of the others can reply to you about OUR fics.

I think I already jumped the gun a bit. Oh well. I've never exactly been known for having a level head...Belisarius wrote:Now what are you specifically complaining about here?

"They used to call me Snow White...but I drifted."
a) some people want to try something different. Why do people write like this... What i mean is why do people love changing the basis of the story that much.
b) some people would like things to go 'their' way.
c) some people read canon when the want canon, but follow their own muse when they write. It's hard to try and follow a cookie cutter pattern all the time. New fresh ideas... the rush of the moment... are powerful inducements to write for some people. Drudgery and an adhrence to 'the rules' might quench their flame.
They may have a very good memory, but simply want to move things onward. Like any real life relationship. The fun/exciting sexual tension part doesn't go on forever. They are forgeting why the show is funny.
But, I like the funny parts of FMP and Fumoffu, too. Why not give a short story a try? Folks are starving for stories now....

No im glad people love writing Fics. I like how they are wrote and well presented they are. You could see its well produced. Im not complaining, but it is more of a question. I know people like to stray off the story to have a more original Fic (Ie Nadesico full metal panic.... hehehehe Kurz's is a woman). So pls forgive me writers if i implied that your writing it wrong.

dd answered the question very well. So, that's the end of that, I suppose. I know I personally had a lot of trouble trying to figure out what you were asking, though, so if you could edit your posts beforehand, that'd be great.TabingIlog wrote:No im glad people love writing Fics.
