*cries* Poor little Sousuke
I can't help trying to put the points together, and now I'm wondering how this information plays out. If the port is in the USSR, I wonder if this is how Sousuke ends up being trained by the Soviets. Perhaps Kalinin was already thinking of defecting to help the Afghans at this point and that if Sousuke was to be trained by the Soviets, that would make them enemies.
...okay, I'm going to stop trying to figure this out. I'll try to wait until the next part is out. Sorry
Does it say where the port is? I this how Sousuke ends up in the USSR, or did they ship him back to Japan?sj4iy wrote:They separate when they get to port...

Thanks to Cultnirvana and sj4iy for claryfing that story.
As sj4iy has reported in his last reply, it would be quite clear why and where Sousuke was orphaned and met Kalinin. But what was the Sousuke's parents job? Why were they in Afghanistan?
Where and when did Sousuke join the mujaheddin?
Too questions in tow can arise, I may think so
At this point we have to see the second part of that story.
Maybe many of you have already noticed the differences between the manga and the novels. The anime follows more or less the novels. I think the manga is a sorta of a 'reboot' of FMP, making somewhat darker.

From this and other facts, we suppose that Sousuke's parents were never in Afghanistan. They were probably just Japanese civilians that boarded an ill-fated plane that crashed in Russia.Kaspar wrote:Why were they in Afghanistan?
From this short story it seems Sousuke is stuck in Russia. In the 'End of Day by Day' novels, it explains how Sousuke wasn't first a soldier in Afghanistan, but was trained as a child assassain by the Soviets. He was sent into Afghanistan at the age of seven to assassainate one of the leaders of the Afghan resistance against Russia. However, Sousuke failed, and the man he was to kill took pity upon him. Rather than executing Sousuke, he adopted him as his own son. That was how Sousuke ended up in the mujaheddin.Kaspar wrote:Where and when did Sousuke join the mujaheddin?
