Character Background Question

Hey der,

I've been reading the latest Boku-Tachi Translation and I noticed that there doesn't seem to be great relationship with Kaname and her family. Does anyone know if he's mentioned about this in a previous book or if this is kind of a new thing he put in? I'd really like to know what the deal with her and her family is.

FAMILY MEMBERS:
Shunya Chidori (Father)
Shizu Chidori (Mother, deceased)
Ayame Chidori (Younger sister)

POINTS OF INTEREST:
-Shunya Chidori, Kaname’s father, is the High Commissioner for the Environment at the United Nations
-March, 2001 - Kaname’s father and sister move to New York, USA
-August, 1998 - Kaname’s mother, Shizu, dies of cancer

I've heard some things not about Kaname's family but about Kaname's mother family.
It seems that Shizu belonged to an ancient family of samurai.
Shizu runaway from home because she wanted to get marry soon with Kaname's father, Shunya.
Because of her behaviour the relationship between her and her family were interrupted.
Although Shizu's father is very attached to his grandchildren and in one story he visits Kaname and met Sosuke!

But, don't be afraid: grandpa seems to appreciate Sosuke!
About Kaname's past: it seems that Kaname and her family lived in Japan until she attended the first year of the elementary school.
They lived in NY for about 5 years and then returned to Japan in May 1998 where Kaname started to attend junior high school.
July 1998, 3 days house detention for malicious damage to school property
August 1998, Kaname's mother dies of cancer.
March 2001, Kaname's father and sister's movedo to NY.

Ah. Is this in the seventh volume of the manga? It says at the back of Vol. 6 that Kaname's grandfather is in it. Or is it in a novel too. It sounds really cool.

I don't know. I'm Italian and in this moment the fifht volume of the manga has been published.

I have the 7 ep of FMP manga...small problem...its in Japanese.
