Yeah, That's Ikinari, the one we were talking about. It's the only possibility. I think 'Ikinari' means 'suddenly', so 'Outburst' works well as a title.

EDIT: From Jae's site:
'Ikinari! Full Metal Panic!' skips most of the serious plot. To best enable this, some minor character facts are different.
The Ikinari! series is mostly comedy focusing on Sousuke's troubles (and the trouble he causes) in protecting Kaname from a threat that never seems to fully materialize. It's very slapstick, with tons of very bloody/painful-looking violence, but none of it intended to be taken very seriously. For example, Sousuke constantly suffers extreme injuries and a few 'deaths', not to mention spending a whole chapter as a dog. A very exaggerated version.

And just an additional difference (minor)- chapters in the regular FMP manga are 'Missions', and in Ikinari, they are 'Bombs'. Appropriate...

That's an old description.. it's even more different than that implies.

Literally, take most of the characters, 2-D their personalities, toss em into a 'no-gravity' version of the FMP world, and stretch to fit :)

The art's cute, though. It's zany and clever and I never expected to see it domestically. Not much Tessa action, however. She seems to spend most of her page time trying to see but not be seen.

I'd like more info on the Surplus! book, though, if anybody reading has any sort of clue. I have the book, that's not what I mean, but where does it come from/fit in?

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Good luck Customer Service for ADV is the pits. I know this from the number of times a friend of mine tried to return things.

Personally , I really liked "Ikinari FMP!" :D

There was some really sweet and lovely stories. And the author is still Gatou Shouji, it's only the mangaka that changed, so there's no OOC, nothing...
I especially loved the end. To me, the Ikinari series was an occasion to see Gatou-sensei have some fun. And that's worth it !
:-D
Some stories were really good, as the new year one, or the lost memory part... Nah, I really enjoyed it, and I absolutely recommend it to whoever can lay his/her hands on it.
Ikinari !

My understanding is that it'll be released in either May or June. Can't really remember.

I haven't found anything official yet, but here is a link at amazon- http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ce&s=books

(amazon has a track record of pulling release dates out of it's ass. Where ever that is. But it'll be nice if the June date is real. And, uh, that's an interesting proto-cover.)

I'm not really sure I buy it...

*doesn't see anything on ADV's website, keeps in mind ADV's manga site hasn't updated since September*

It's up in the air.

animeondvd.com says ADV has officially released the release dates- vol 1 is June 6.

The title was apparently listed this way- Full Metal Panic: Overload (AKA: Ikinari! Full Metal Panic), and ADV's manga site still has not been updated
