thanks to the miracles of Black Technology we have been able to create a sucessful series of Tessa clones.

AND THEY'RE MINE! ALL MINE!

...Except in 1 in 5 have Gauron's personality....you can have those.

In any case in real life it's tough. I'd date any of the main three for personality and looks but of course Mao has the benefit of you know...being LEGAL and stuff.

She has the sexy anime ADULT thing going going

I don't see why any of you would want to date a woman in the military, there is definatly something wrong about that. I've seen cadets date cadets and that's just plain ugly. However if you want Tessa (personally I don't) that's different because I'm simply not convinced that's she's a military woman, let alone an O-6 (another rant for another time).

Personal opinion. Try explaining to people who don't have experience in the military why that's 'wrong'.

Granted there are always exceptions but unless your into manly women (as they tend to be far more masculine than your average metrosexual) I would advise against it. On the flip side, if the military woman is (somewhat) feminine she will be susceptible to a condition known as slu (a slu is like a slut but worse). Since she will be surrounded by men who don't get out much, even if plane looking woman will be overwhelmed by salutations from men and will either become very picky or more likely become a slu. A slu is to be avoided because she has half a dozen boyfriends who all can (and will) kick your ass ten times over.

Interesting.

There seems to be a niche male stereotype of guys who like women who can kick ass. Or at least, prefer women who can hold their own vs. the helpless ones.

Military women, at least superficially, meet that ideal, and RL things like slu and over-machoisim don't really play into fantasy scenarios. :)

In fantasy it's all good :-P . As far a holding your own goes, I think thats why Kaname gets so much fan love. There is definately a sexiness to that, but within limits. Kaname is a perfect example, and more importantly she's a civilian :-D .

Weapons training level the playing field without the women needing to be buff and muscular.

Think again, combat requires physical strength, even in a cockpit you have to be strong to execute the high G maneuvers. No amount of training is going to make holding up a rifle for hours on end any easier, unless it's physical training of course.
