Everything I've read has been rather specific that it would cover both of the ODBD novels (if you think about it, quite a bit of stuff does happen in them, so there won't be a lack of storyline to go on).
Hmm. I wonder. The first season was based on 3 full-length novels. I've never read them, but I'd imagine that each should be somewhat comparable to ODBD. Besides, in terms of actual events, not a whole lot happened in ODBD. I'm sure they could cover it in just a few episodes. Most of the meat came from the interalization going on with Sousuke and Kaname. The first season lacked a lot of internalization. If Second Raid is to cover just those novels, I would hope they'd put more into fleshing out the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Or at least add in some of the short story fillers surrounding the novels.

Yes, but Fumoffu? wasn't that long of a series, either...nowhere near as long as the first season. And I would think that if DVMC was going to be included in this next series, they would say something about it. ODBD was actually just one over-long story that ended up being broken up into two books...but if you consider that in the first season, they covered the first novel in about 7 episodes, then it's possible that they can stretch ODBD to probably around 13 episodes. Plus I don't know if DVMC would be very good to throw in there...the tempo and feeling of that story is very different from that of ODBD, and it would probably seem a bit awkward to put together as a congruent storyline.

Again, these are just my thoughts- I only know as much as the magazines have printed.

i disagree, i think that making another season of 26 epi. will be pointless if
1. strech the 2 novels dbd for 24 ep will be very boring
2. the remaing questions will still be there about whispered and the love affairs.

so my opinion is that it will be a 24 ep that will summarize the 3 novels dbd+dvmc

They may stick in a couple of one off school stories, like they did with the first season (okay, there was only ONE of them, but you get my drift), to string it out.

yes, but neither odbd nor dvmc really answer any of the questions about the whispered, and I can't really say about the love affairs. I guess the only point I'm trying to make is that the series doesn't have to 24 episodes long...so they don't have to stretch it in the first place. But they have made changes to odbd storyline already (changing the brothers to sisters, character changes, etc). I would actually rather see a shorter series than see them try to stretch what is already an awesome story.

*ADDED LATER*

I have scanned in a picture from Dragon Magazine that has scenes from the upcoming anime:

Looks good :)

well, I'm excited at the fact they will include the Sicilian sequence.. I was afraid they might cut it out. Yes, we get to see Mao in a nice slinky dress :D

Gotta love the yon-koma.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

What, the comic? I'm attempting what is possibly the crudest translation ever, with the help of that handy online Japanese-English dictionary. :-P

(1)

Kaname: Celebrating! The anime's third season (lit. "bullet/shot")!
Tessa: The setting: "Owaru Day By Day"!

(2)

Mao: This work's highlight is my sexy scene
Kurz: (and?) My awesome moves! (I think it should be "my action scene", but...)
Sousuke: ...

(3)

Gauron: See my death scene with your own eyes...

(4)

(Doesn't need translating. Sound effects of shooting - "gan".)

EDIT: Thanks to sj4iy for corrections.
