I just finished watching it.
Al i can say is nice animations. I really enjoyed the Opening
especially those scenes showing Kaname in the rain, [picture below] after.... Spoiler--> Tessa's evil brother had stolen her first kiss.... <--- Spoiler end

Both songs are very nice. Same for the ending, but i wish they'd shown more Sousuke x Kaname moments... I`m not interested in what a japanese classroom looks like. :(

The new character design is also done nice, I like it better than the Fumoffu one but my fav charadesign is still the one the first series.
Sousuke looked very much like Van in the Escaflowne movie.

I'm gonna take a few caps now and hope the english sub is released soon.

Yeah those Kaname shots got me interested, I haven't yet read the novel
What scence could this be ?

Can't wait till the subs come out, Kaname was having a rant (as usual) would love the translation (baka, sousuke .... well I can imagine <g> ) anyway a great actionpacked episode 1.

-Animation was good (biased) even the CG of the TDD-1 looked less crappy.

-Again a hint of A-Team, Why was that Khadafi clone still alive after such a barrage. :?

-As dfens noted, Sousuke could have usede LD better / more often. ]
My gawd he's a worse student than Skywalker.
Then again in the OP he was charging the LD and it gave off a massive shockwave.

- I wish I had Tessa as homework tutor ... then again ... :perv: *cough*

If this continues we have a worthy S2.

Any takes on the bgm they used for the next ep. preview ???? last time it was the A-Team .. now it feels like Airwolf <g>

Mil.Minions, There is work to do in the armory ....

Tanks.
ECS tracking missile, I didn't really understand but they mumbled about a Patriot.
Type AS ?? mmmz. Evil.
TDD-1 Rockets. *orders one for the bar*

On a side note: please go easy on the screenshots.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Just watched the raw. Is the episode title, "End of Day by Day"? Owaru Nichi-ichi?

Sousuke left her notes on the sub. :-D Ya, the preview BMG has an Airwolf beat. LOL

Can't wait to see the Kaname in the rain scene. But if Tau hasn't read the novels yet (wtf newbie :p), I won't say anymore about it.

Yay, she's crying...

Yay she [ecs]lost her first kiss to a man she doesn't even know...[/ecs]

Yay, angst...

Boo, she's not half-naked or in a tattered bath robe like she's supposed to be.

Uh... anyway I'm wondering if I should bother watching The Second Raid... I'm thinking about it...

People better actually die this time (I'm sure you know who I mean... but I don't mean just him )

One word to describe this ep: WOW! :-o The animation was awesome. The OP and ED were well done! For the ending I agree with Kaze there should of been more Sousuke+Kaname moments. :( I also enjoyed the action. What I really want to know is what Sousuke :sousuke: was doing when he was fighting those guys. :? Why was he by himself?
Yep! I definetly can't wait for the Kaname :kaname: rooftop scene and the Canicatti
chase scene! :-D Can't wait for the sub and next week!
I don't have any regrets. I'm glad I met you Sousuke Sagara.

Sorry for making another thread didn't know so I'll post in this section.

Well just finished watching it raw thank god I studied japanese or I wouldn't understand a thing. Anyways hope someone fan subs it soon.

If your wondering the first episode isn't the one you saw in the 5 min teaser episode that came out awhile back that takes place in the desert.

I won't spoil it for you it looks like it picks up where the first series left off. Lots of action and people dying. Chidori gets practically no screen time except at the end dam them. Animation wasn't as good as the the first series I think GONZO didn't do this one. But much better than Fummofu. Overall I say it was worth the wait, but the opening and ending songs/sequences didn't do it for me hell the first 2 series where much better in this department.

The only real thing that bugs me is Sousuke still doesn't use the lamda drive shield to it's full potential. I mean he's surrounded severly outnumbered getting shot at from all directions and only uses it once. If he would just use it like Gaul did he could just walk right up to the enemy all invinceable and destroy them easily but no.

As for ECS tracking missile it's a modified missle fired from a Patriot style launcher. They're basically shocked that some piss poor country has such and advanced weapon. Most likely some black box technology is involved and is being sold on the black market. Guess Mithiril isn't the only one with whisperds designing new toys.

The title is Owaru Hibi :) But yes, that could be end of day by day or end of days.

A couple of things:

The Lambda Driver is not a complete weapon, it's a prototype. If you rely upon it all the time, it's like speeding all the time - if you do that, you're bound to get caught eventually. Whereas if you only use it once in a while, when in a real emergeancy, chances are you'll never get a ticket.

Getting caught in Sousukes case would mean battering the only Lambda Driver AS the Atlantic part of Mithril has access to, and perhaps getting killed in the process - it's not something he'll want to do, considering taking out other Lambda Driver AS's can be very tricky if you haven't got one.

As for using it like Gauron, well, Gauron managed to make his AS go down completely the first time he used it, and another time he overheated it pretty darn quickly - Sousuke, despite being insane, doesn't take chances he doesn't have to, he always covers his back, while Gaurons defining characteristic is that he's a gambler who just goes for it nomatter what. It's only natural that they'll have different approaches towards using an unreliable weapon.

-

I found that the quality of the animation varied; it's obvious that limited animation is utilized, since running sequences performed by the Mithril GI's and the other soldiers is often quite chunky. On the other hand, the detail that went into that bad mofo's arm dropping, and the fact that all of those civilian POW's were drawn out with faces and everything - the painted cityscape - the combat where many rescourses are spent drawing out tanks, jeeps, and entire scenes, and AS's jumping around everywhere - the stylized frame where we get to see the bad mofo the first time...those things would never have been done by Gozo's crew; The city scape of the behemoth wasn't exactly impressive, the crowd of guerrillas during the mao-flashback was done with far less detail, the scene during the first arc where Sousuke used the ARX for the first time and jumped from savage to savage was quite inferrior to these combat scenes -

Generally speaking, I think I've made my point by now: it's not entirely fair to label the animation quality as inferior to the first season. The focus of animation is at different points, and points which I feel are more relevant, since this time, I was blown away many times over in a manner that rivaled the very best moments of the first season...

-

I really liked this beginning. I didn't understand much, but who cares?, I almost cried at points. And to think that this was 'just a filler' arc...that's sure as hell better than any filler during season 1. I can't wait till they get to some of the stuff that's depicted in the novels and manga...

edit: oh yeah, and I liked the intro somewhat, but the song was kinda tame I thought...and both the ending and end song were, well...I wasn't fond of those either. I thought the first two seasons did far better in this department.

edit: another note: I couldn't help but wonder if, at that point where Kaname was yelling at him, if it was sweat or spit that started piling up on Sousukes face - though it's obviously sweat, I was certainly amused by the thought :-D - I hope they'll try to turn Kaname down a bitch..uh..I mean...a bit...or a notch...whichever you prefer :-P

Well, I guess since on her notes she had written "Forget these and die!", she had a right to be angry with him leaving her notes on the submarine :)

I thought it was a little sad when Sousuke and Tessa were talking and Sousuke said that he would do it because it was his mission, even though he is clearly under a lot of stress.

Wow. Those screen caps of Kaname crying is almost enough to make me depressed. Where did that clip come from anyway? That scene doesn't happen until around the middle of the story and only the first episode has been released, right?

*cracks knuckles*

1. Alright then. That episode ROCKED! Finally, we're getting back to the serious action tone + little comedy spices that made the original so f'n awesome.

2. Some of these moments make me await the sub even better. I wanna know what Kurz said to Mao that pissed her off like that. I heard "Mao-neesan" and I couldn't understand the rest.

3. Anyone else thinking that for the most part, this is original story? I didn't recognize where the beginning of this episode took place. Either that, or they're just making OCs to fit in to the novels, like Tsubaki & Ren did with Fumofuu borrowing from the short stories. Or they're just throwing in original stuff mixed in with the novels like FMP! did giving a filler ep with Episode 14 (I know they're more episodes then that, that's just a prime example) . I hope this series goes past 12-13 episodes. At least make it a 24 episode series, like the original FMP was. That way, you could get ODBD, DVMC, & COMO out of the way, while throwing in some funny filler that's loyal to the novels, like Sousuke getting a haircut.

4. This is more of me ranting, but I must be the only one who can't seem to adjust to Tessa's voice ever since Fumofuu. Maybe it's just me, but when you compare her Fumofuu self to her voice in the original, in the original, she was much more serious, even in Episode 13 of FMP, as silly an episode as it was. Now, in TSR, she just seems naive, well, more naive then usual. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Tessa fan to the end, just an observation from my ears' POV.

Gah! I need to watch Episode 13 again. Maybe I'm just being forgetful & stupid, and she hasn't changed in tone at all.

5. Finally, I like the OP. It has some pretty good moments, and represents all the characters fine. I do hope the ED changes though. It doesn't seem appropiate for the series IMO.
