Oh. I thought AEmer was referring to radical changes in OP/ED, like the complete change in music and animation that Gundam SEED had.Circle wrote:Yea, Gonzo changed the OP animation a bit. Can't remember the details anymore, little stuff like a hawk flying in Helimejistan (Afghanistan) instead of the seagull flying over the ocean.

Why is that getting translated again, when ADV has done it already, and released the whole damn series in a box set?moongurl411 wrote:Everyone please disreguard my post from earlier. The sub wasn't TSR but the first ep of the first season. Gomen.

Actually, I was just reffering to that change, which I wouldn't call minor, but eh - as I recall it, when you use actual scenes for an anime series, it's not custom to utilize stuff from long into the series when the intro is going to get rewamped before then.
Anyway Radrad, it wasn't subbed again, or that's not very probable...that download-link was simply bogus. Some people have a weird sense of humour.
And Sousuke is just going to general purpose highschool, not studying anything in particular... but if the question was what he was studying in particular in that scene, jap. history would probably be a good guess.

Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?
Two subs are now out, one by Anime-Destiny and another by Bakakozou. The latter came out first, but their original tracker seems to have died. They have switched to a new one, but that is not yet commonly known.
EDIT:
The Bakakozou version, if you can find the working tracker, will have far more seeds than the Anime-Destiny version. The latter has more peers, though. Bakakozou is 232.9Mb, Anime-Destiny is 172.0Mb.
2ND EDIT:
The Bakakozou version definitely has better video quality, very noticeable on my laptop LCD (running at 1680x1050 resolution). As for translation, IMO the Bakakozou version is also slightly better, but that might just be because I watched it first. Both have a couple of translation anomalies in places, but there seemed to be more of them in the Anime-Destiny version.
3RD EDIT:
I should explain my comments on translation. I do not know any Japanese whatsoever (apart from what I pick up by watching anime), so when I say "anomalies", I mean dialogue that doesn't quite seem right from an English point-of-view, ie doesn't seem natural. I realise that what I've said probably makes no sense whatsoever, but that's the best way I can describe it.

wow that first episode was great.
I'm pretty impressed by the animations (all those tanks, explosion yeah great!)
soundeffects were great, too.
I'm a bit sad that there wasn't much souske/chidori action
and it seems that her nose is a bit, i don't really know, "chunky"??
well well
"I forgot it in a submarine 2000km away *smack" ow!
that's my favourite
can't wait for the next episode

I agree completely With gearnie, the BakaKozou is way better picture wise. I don't know about translations, I did notice that BakaKozou uses Uruzu, while A-destiny uses Urzu. But A-Desitiny gave made the code name for all the thing into names whereas Bakakozou had it more like code names suchs a TAO 12 or whatever. I don't know which one is right, but I have a feeling that BakaKozou is closer.
However I didn't watch all of the A-Destiny one because the picture quailty wasn't as good and the translations that they made weren't necesarily better, in an english sense (I understand very very little japanese), than those of Bakakozou.

yeah first ep was quite nice...
Though one thing bothered me ALOT!!
the thing with the Lamda Driver As many already noted,
was not used the slightest to its full potentials
Sousuke could have just walked through the city without getting a scratch.. as seen in many events in the first season where Gauron just laughed and got hit by bullets & rockets
Aemer noted that its a prototype... and that gaurons AS got destroyed quite a few times... though every time he was destroyed he was fighting Sagara whom used the LD as well and every other time he used it he didnt
even have to break a sweat cause normal missiles couldnt hurt him at all.
anyway since sousuke has been using the LD quite a long time so he
should be able to handle it quite well
The thing at the bridge was the worse, they may want to hold the lamda driver a secret but damn when
Sagara though he would die at the bridge and that Arbalest suggested
that he should eject instead of using the Lamda Driver again i was abit suprised as he could easily destroyed all the tanks just by thinking about it

@ZyreX:
If you read the novel translations though, it becomes clearer why Sousuke can't/won't use the LD to it's full potential at this point. There were hints of it in the first series too, when he couldn't use it against Gauron on that island, resulting in Mao getting injured. Basically, he doesn't like the LD or Arbalest. He thinks that the LD is too flukey to be a weapon he can put any trust in, so he hates the machine itself.
Regarding timeline, this isn't all that long after the end of the first series, and that only spanned 6 months or so, so I don't think you can really say that Sousuke's been using the LD for that long or that often. He's actually only been able to use it 3 times that we have seen in the anime (I think - First against Gauron in "Khanka", second against Behemoth, Third against Gauron onboard Da Danaan - correct me if I'm wrong. Remember that he tried and failed on the island.). I think that they're just being consistent with the storyline (in that he doesn't use the LD to it's potential), and that this will show as the plot moves along, especially at the end.
Of course, that doesn't mean you have to like the fact that you didn't get to see Sousuke kick ass....
