The TSR soundtrack

Post by AEmer »

I thought it was most appropriate to start a new folder for this...I believe it was made available through certain channels only very recently. It appears to have been released. Included is, apparently, a very nice little art book that doesn't have a lot of new art, but it _does_ have one very nice picture of the TDD-1 resting in a dock. Should be of interesting to Jae, though it may of course have been released before - If so it should be easy to recognize, as it has a very distinct blue hue.

I must admit, listening to it right now, that the intro theme is much more to my liking in the full version...maybe it'll grow on me once I've listened to it a few (hundred) times, but right now, it's at a completely different (lower) level for me than the first two intro's -

The airwolf themed track on this one is pretty kewl...I'm starting to really like it...

On to more serious bussiness:
I did a comparison of the lengths of the various soundtracks...this one is 44 minutes, that is, slightly longer than season ones first OST, and slightly shorter than it's second OST...whereas fumoffu came with a full hour.
The numbers on this OST are generally longer...but then, as a concequence, there are fewer of them.
Little can be interpreted from this about the length of the series, sadly. It does indicate some longer sequences will be used this time around...and then of course, the music is a kind of sneak peak into future episodes.

I'm sure I'll have more comments about the music once I've listened to them all some more.
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

Hehehehe, I was wondering if anyone posted about this yet. I just got a hold of the soundtrack today and I loooooove it! I think I like the opening theme better now that I've listened to the song in it's entirety. The pieces on here are lovely. All the horns and strings really got me going since I adore orchestral music. I actually like this OST better than the one for the original series, but that's just me. I highly recommend this one to any fan :)

Will the opening be coming out as a single? I already have 3 FMP soundtracks and don't really need another, but I would love the opening.

Yes, the OP/ED single came out already. It has 5 tracks:
1) OP
2) ED
3) "ano hi ni kaeritai"
4) OP(instrumental)
5) ED (instrumental)
