Too bad they didn't have the part with the mob boss checking out the car that Kurz rigged and having it blow up in his face. That was good stuff. ^^

It looks like they omitted a lot of stuff from ODBD here. Starting to think it'll be 13ep only because they shrinked the ep here and there. It might be two-ep part but alas they decided to do it as 1-epper.

I was disgusted with the fifth ep. It is way too fast for me. And a lot of animation was done only briefly (remember the scene with mafia shooting (not single bullet hitting) at the trio car for the first time).
* Origin: The real treasure lies in one's heart.
* Project: russian fan dub of the FMP! series (lead and tech), (5/24 done, 7/24 in active progress).
* Project: russian fan sub of the FMP! TSR series (5/? done).

Hey just seen the episode and loved every minute. Do you have any ideas who was piloting the black M9? If you know plz dont tell. I just want to know if we already know the pilot or if he/she is a new character.

Mao earns a few points in my book -- why? She can be sexy and desirable...
when she wants to. As Bluneo discovers to his detriment

Action! Action! Action!

Sousuke at his best -- packing a car full of guns, rockets, missiles, etc.
so much that the car couldn't go very fast. Just me, but it felt like that had
some inspiration from the final chase scene in T2. And also my own personal
opinion: Rock 'n Roll is a military slang denoting full auto fire. Either way...

Kaname cellphone scene: guess they didn't recycle that out of the trailer.
When it started, I was so expecting to see that repeated. Guess Kyoto had
a few extra bucks to throw at that scene. For teh gags it played -- never
mind the logistics of driving, durcking fire, etc while talking on the cellphone
--

...and another personal opinion: Tessa got shafted in Fumoffu character-wise,
maybe it's Kaname's turn  Well... wel'll see

BTW, she somehow lose her halisen at the start? Or the animators
just think that didn't pack enough punch...

I believe the halisen was disincluded on purpose...the more serious nature of TSR is likely the reason. You could pretty much tell it was gone in ep. 2...

It may also be that Kyoto just likes making up new ways for Kaname to harm Sousuke...who knows?
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

It's interesting that they changed the model of car used from the novels. In the novels, the car was simply referred to as a Fiat, but the illustration made it quite clear that it was in fact a Fiat 500 (and yellow to boot), as driven by Lupin III... That model is much more in keeping with the 90 km/h max speed that gets mentioned (at least without Lupin's rocket booster) My guess is that the animators changed the model of the car in order to remove the Lupin reference and thus avoid potential lawsuits, but didn't change the speed and stuff to reflect the car actually depicted as having a faster car woulde involve plot changes too.

They wouldn't get sued for a reference. If that were the case then the creators of Lupin would be in even more trouble with Fiat.

I assume they used a bigger car to make it somewhat more realistic those weapons simply wouldn't fit in a 500 .. :-D

think the 500 was rated @ 59mph / 95 Km/h (no head wind <g>)

*click* .. ooooooh gimme :-o

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Then the specs mentioned in the dialouge/novel certainly match the 500 better than they match the car shown... Well, I guess another reason to remove a Lupin reference would be to emphasize the darker atmosphere of the series over the others (not exactly very dark to "quote" the granddady of all action-comedy animes), despite the fact that this is about as close to a comedy episode as FMP:TSR is likely to get...
