"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

I thought it was orders from Tessa's superiors, so she had to follow through. So if that's true, I don't know why Tessa keeps thinking and feeling that it's her fault. There are instances though that say that she ordered it, but probably because her superiors had ordered her to do it. On the Orders Message, [ecs]it was from Operations Headquarters, so that meant that those higher up than Tessa had ordered Sousuke his leave of his duty of guarding Chidori.[/ecs]

no i think tessa could make a reply such as there is still a need for souske to guard kaname and they would think about it. She didn't speak up about it so that's y I think.

I think, more than anything, that having one of the assassins passing Chidori in the street was for dramatic effect [ecs]because I'm pretty sure that bit wasn't in the novel, right?[/ecs]. We, as the viewers, already know how terrifying this girl is. Chidori, on the other hand, cannot comprehend this sudden feeling of unexplained terror, which really sets the mood for the rest of the episode. I felt just as scared as she was! As for the unknown caller part, that just piled on the tension even more. :storm: [/code]

in the novel, instead of having the assassin passing by chidori in the anime, chidori notices the assassin staring at her and then suddenly disappearing, which creeps her out.... basically the same thing

...I half expect CPOK'll be pissing his pants over that scene for a good two weeks... if he hasn't already :-D

No action yet, but I rather liked the Sousuke / Wraith interchange at the start. Wraith
pretty much nails it on the head in analyzing Sousuke's situation and how
he should keep things professional, not personal. Wraith's cold analysis of
the Kaname situation hits Sousuke where it hurts most: she's a 'target,' not
a person. Keep her alive, but at minimal cost and exposure.

 Poor Sousuke... you can just hear the voices to kill screaming in his head....

Question to those who've read the novel: is there a fair bit of rivalry between
the Intel and Ops divisions of Mithril? There definately seems to be given
the way Wraith notes there was something of a clash between the two
after the Airport incident over Sousuke's actions and subsequent fallout.

As for the 'scoping out the target' scene... REALLY adds to building
up the tension. You can just feel what'shername's hate? for Kaname.
Is it even hate? AFAIK, those twins are anything but emotional...
Personally, I lean towards the 'ID'ing / confirming the target.' Note how
she slips away into the crowd right after passing Kaname. This confirms
in person who she's after... tho if, as we speculate [ecs]Gaulun was orginally
the twins / lovers' 'sensei'[/ecs] it also hits towards one of Sousuke / Kashim's weak spots.
And we all know how 'Sensei's' all about hitting ppls weak spots

...so why didn't Kaname hit every light in her apartment when she got home?
For that matter, why didn't she run to Sousuke's place in the first place
and satisfy SxK fans with another obligatory lovey-dovey 'protect me
Sousuke, I'm scared' scene?

Back to the action next time! And yeah, given their pacing, I don't know
how 12, event 13 eps is going to fit this all. Keep it up anyways! :-D

From what I've gathered from the novels, definately. But it's not just the nature of Sousuke being in Ops and Wraith being in Intel, look at what Intel has dished out to Ops. In the first season (Wow, who hasn't seen the first season yet?:D) [ecs] the betrayal that allowed Gauron to take over the Danaan came from Intel.[/ecs] And then just in this season there's Bluno from Intel causing heaps of trouble. Well alright, those are only two instances, and they do nothing to explain why there would be a long running rivalry between the two divisions. But anyways, YES, there is a rivalry and looking at these instances, perhaps this is the type of relationship that they have experienced through their history, which has lead to the bad feelings between them.

Because that wouldn't have been Kaname. :-D I love this show for it's awesome characters and Kaname has to be one of my favorites. Even though I do like my share of lovey-dovey, you make her sound too much like some damn Kagome. Our Chidori has more backbone than that. She went back to her apartment alone to tough it out, even after she was completely unnerved by the assassin. She ran to Sousuke's apartment only after she got a creepy phone call and then couldn't get a hold of him.

Oh and because I haven't posted it yet: I am completely in love with this Sousuke. I can hardly stand to read my manga or watch season one because of the glaring differences in animation style and quality between them.

I don't think there are rivalries between the Intelligence Department and the Operations Department because they don't normally do the same operations, that's why they are different Departments to accomplish different objectives. Rivalry wouldn't explain the Research Department, Intelligence Department, and the Operations Department not getting along because of rivalry to do better, since as said before, they usually do different things. The relations aren't good because each Department thinks that the other isn't doing enough, or it's share of the work efficiently, even though the said Department might be doing all it can. They will probably be like that forever since now even the personnel of the Departments feel like that the others are inept or just people who don't get their jobs done.

As for me, I'm kind of missing the first season Kaname compared to the FUMOFFU and The Second Raid Kaname style. Though both have their good points.

That comment WAS rather tounge-in-cheek on my part kam3ko, but to
me, if she was that creeped out it seemed stupid on her part to keep
playing tough one last time to hide in her apartment all alone and in the
dark rather than seek out Sousuke that much sooner... smart ppl know
when they should go it alone and when they should seek help :-P

And not to say that Intel and Ops actively seek out opportunities to discredit
the others' handling of their end of things.... just I picked up on how Wraith
seemed to have to rub it in his (and consequently Intel's) disapproval
of how Sousuke & Ops handled things and wondered if the novels also
mentioned something like this. Thx for both your inputs on this

Oh my god I just saw a girl in the streets and she gave me this really creepy look!, and when I turned around to take a look at her, she was gone!, I was like sooooo scared!!!

No, running straight to Sousukes place to get in touch with mithril because of that seems quite silly, atleast if you're not trained etc.

Either way, I think it's not really stupid that she went home, and furthermore, it gave us a better episode, I feel...

You would have thought that with Kaname in extreme anxiety would have checked the caller's id before picking up the phone. Though of course that achieved its intentional drama effect for Kaname and the viewer.

this episode was totally creepy!! my mouth was hanging open for half the show and i was squeezin my cat too hard (hence boo-boos)

I was so disappointed with Sousuke's silent removal of himself without any sort of letter/text message/post-it. at least write "good-bye." he'll get whacked for that. ("...that hurt")

I agree that Kaname has more backbone than to go running to sousuke immediately. even if logically she should have run to him immediately, wasn't he gone by the time she passed by that twin? it was pretty late by then. remember, his phone was already disconnected.

of course she'd just laugh her fear off...i think she'd rather eat that alarm clock than admit she's a chicken to sousuke  that's just how she is.
I was so imagining she'd get kidnapped or attacked when she left her apartment.

augh! it can't be so few episodes!

I don't think she even saw her. It seemed to me that she just felt a murderous intent and panicked.
