Is the actually title "Two in Hong Kong"? I translated the title "Divided Hong Kong." Those who have read the books should know what I mean.

Great ep! Poor Sousuke.

I noticed in the opening that they show Leonard's face. Ok, so after watching it I have a few questions. At the end after Melissa yells at Sousuke, right as he's about to leave the car, he says something and they show a quick glimpse of one of the twin sisters face. Is that supposed to imply something? If it did I didn't get it. And also last question about the preview, is that actually Kaname? She's wearing make up and weird clothes. Call me crazy but that just doesn't look like her. Any ideas to who it might be? I don't know. Anyway, looking forward to the subs!

well i remember mao being shocked to witness how the twins' eyes look so hollow and depressing, i think this is just a comparison between the condition that sousuke is in right now to that of the twins--completely without hope, as if they are already dead--which obviously stuns mao even more to see

i guess giving sousuke a peaceful life then stripping it away from him is just too cruel

I guess it's only in Sousuke's imagination.
The scene before he's shown with the whiskey (or whatever it was) bottle in his hand and probably he's thinking about her because [spoiler]he was told by Gauron that they killed her...[/spoiler]
Also he seems to be in a Game and Fun area, so this woman looks quite like a prostitute to me.

OMG I don't want to know what she's saying.

. Yea, it's probably Sousuke seeing her everywhere.

As for the title, "Futatsu no Hong Kong," the writers probably left it vague so it can mean many things. If they wanted to be more specific as in two people, they could've used "futari" instead of "futatsu." I have a feeling if it's "Two Hong Kongs," then the "no" wouldn't be needed, it'd just be "Futatsu Hong Kong." No?

His coversation with the suit's AI was rather amusing, but rather
creepy... rarely has anime shown a suit with this level of its own
'consciousness.' And the AI's own 'awareness' of human emotions was
rather disturbing. Well, at least it wasn't a repetive 'I don't understand'
with the AI unit.

...Ignores Tessa like she was yesterday's garbage... not even a salute in
line with normal protocol? IDIOT!!

I know Sousuke's being given a chance to show his human side, heck,
everything up to now's shown he DOES have feelings, tho not necessarily
the words to describe it, but he's so out of it this ep... there just aren't words
to describe how OOC this feels... Count him lucky whoever was
in that Venom? only wanted to taunt and play today...

Mao's backstory given it's own soliloquy... whoever's read the novels
may want to check some things. Mao admits to having family in HK
she freebooted off of while figuring herself out after her stint in the Marines.
Then there's the stuff about her AF father conspiring to marry her off to
a Harvard graduate, and Mao's rather... spirited response to that

I kinda wish I was there in person when Michiko Neya was delivering this,
she does it so well and naturally.

Hunter... whiskey tango foxtrot is up with him?! First time meeting, I swore
he was a deskjockey, but seems he's got his fingers in quite a few pies...

Idunno Mandarin that well either... but I'd almost swear the VAs were
mispronoucing some stuff... can someone confirm or deny that?

Next time... His Problem... so [ecs]Mao takes it upon herself to dress
herself up as Kaname to cheer Sousuke up?![/ecs]

Sousuke should just get the Arbalest and go on a killing rampage. How cool would that be =) since he can't really take it anymore and now Mithril and everything in the world is an obstacle between him and Kaname.

I kinda liked that part since even he has his downs why shouldnt he be
allowed to have those feelings... when someone's had enough it really is
enough and when that happens u dont care if Tessa is the captain or that
the end of the world is near...
Its a real human emotion and he who hasnt expressed emotions has gathered
them for so many years and finally the bottled up emotions exploded...
no wonder he is depressed..

Dang. Ever since that haircut scene, this show has been really depressing. [ecs]I can't wait for Kaname to go Bruce Lee on Sousuke.

I really hope they include the ending as it was in the novel though. Both with how things went with Sousuke and Mithril, as well as when he went back to school.[/ecs]

I'm fairly sure they were speaking Cantonese, not Mandarin. But I dunno Cantonese so can't say anything about its pronounciation.

Yea, not saluting Tessa is unexpected. Thought he'd still be at least some what of a good soldier and salute her in a sarcastic way, but he just completely ignores her. It's pretty clear by then he doesn't care anymore.

I think it's perfect, not saluting. You salute your commanding officers, or your leaders, out of respect. Sousuke has none, and it's not strange why. He has been removed from his former duty, which is what it is, that's the life of a soldier.
But he's been prohibited any connection with Kaname and even her sorroundings - he's been ordered to focus on a weapon he hates using by a crying commanding officer screaming she hates him and obviously declaring her jealousy, and he's been backstabbed by that same commanding officer and been forced to take on an abusive battle against his own will (disobeying direct orders is not an option, after all) - and the reasons he's been given?, so that his employer might examine his capability, and so that he may focus entirely upon something he hates yet is supposedly able to save the lives of his comrades...

And now that the time has come where he might actually use that weapon he hates to save his comrades?, he's denied the ability to use it.

How can you respect a leadership staff acting like that? Why would you wish to continue working for such leaders who are so unproffesional? Why entrust your life to such leaders?
...

And then, there's the thing that he's got a crush on a girl he can't see...it's a perfectly normal reaction to be a lil' emo...

My thoughts exactly... they made him into a ticking boom by playing with him like a toy and by that I mean sending him back and forth into the arbalest doing petty test for theyr own advantage and not considering his feelings for it when he is the only one able to pilot it..
and by removing him from kaname, the only mission he enjoyed doing and probably the thing that made him keep his sanity was the thing that made his breakdown become reality.
they basically said..
"You arent allowed to enjoy urself, we're sending you back into the sh*t hole to do dirty work"

If it was me, id hate them from the bottom of my heart... I wouldnt care at all if theyd be in more danger without me.. they did it them selves..
now they have to deal with it.. I wonder what that ego commander will do now when she hears the report that sagara ditched her orders...
