*** [TSR] *** Episode 13 - Continuing Day After Day - :)

oh gawd... i just finished watching the last episode
it was beautiful (IMO)... i honestly cried, all this build up and then BOOM this... i was yelling at souske to put his arms around her... darn u tokiwa!
and throwing in wraith was wonderful as well
*shiver* oh man... i can't feel my legs right now
i really want to read the novels (for those of you who had read the novel before watching this season, did it make it any worse? i'd like to read them, but, i dunno how much it'll affect me [assuming there is another series coming])
EDIT: i was surprised that Souske could speak so upfront to Tessa and yet with chidori he couldn't at all; i dunno, i can't tell if he means what he said in the way that tessa wants or if he was just saying that he cares for her as well (but not in that mushy way) and tessa just took in the wrong way.... [obviously i know what WILL happen, but still kinda curious as to how souske meant it]

Unfortunately the series is over just finished watching episode 13, some comments-
- Wasn't Gates last line a little uh...random
- Poor Sisters, why did she cough up blood like she was getting struck? I thought Gates was just hitting the chest of the AS ( the cockpit being in the upper head area? I agree they should of put a last scene to commemorate them or something.
- The Final battle was a little fast, and I felt sagara did own the execution squad a little too fast
- Is there any novels after this one?
- Anyone think sagaras team mates that pointed a gun at him at the start was really planning on shooting him or just get him to his senses?
- Anything special about that elite team mates AS that beat sagaras ( besides it being navy blue? )
Great final episode though!

Actually, the AS isn't big enough for a pilot to sit in the head. The back cracks open and they climb in the hatch through there. So they are sitting in the torso.
And yes, there are more novels after this one. So far there's at least three completed. And Gatou has said that there would be at least another 1 or 2 after that (unless he changes his plans for the plot of the story).

Everyone has probably commented on most of the events of this final episode by now, but I figured I'd add my two cents anyways.
I was wary at first of how the rest of the novel elements could be crammed into one final approx. 20min episode, but I am pleased to discover that TSR ended with all elements covered and well executed. The thanks can obviously be given to their decision to eliminate the opening credits and incorporating the ending credits into a later scene. *thumbs up on the decision and also incoporating the credits in a non intrusive way*
It was nice to hear Sousuke voice some of his thoughts to his fellow soldiers since we rarely do get to hear him speak so openly about his emotions or deeper thoughts. This series clearly gave a very introspective view of him that the first series did not--which was of course, intentional and parallel to the novels.
For some reason I particularily enjoyed the breaking of the glass and cutting his face with no reaction out of Sousuke. It reminded me of a past episode when he went to converse with Al and knocked down the roped barrier. A reflection of how his internal conflicts effect his outward performance, actions and reactions.
Like many people, I would have loved to see Kaname run into Sousuke's arms during her appearance in Hong Kong, but that would not be canon of course, and the episode stayed true to the novels. Even though it did dirastically change the sombre mood of the scene, I couldn't help myself from laughing at her violent attacks on poor Sousuke and I felt that it represented the true colours of Full Metal Panic and the roots of its comedic side.
Gates' puppet show was disturbing in my opinion, though I did laugh a bit when he broke her arm, and I loved his final words "Is this too short?" while looking at his hair before he blew up. So very random. So very Gates.
Although I was a little set back by the opening credits music as the final battle theme, I guess it was okay, although I still think I would have prefered something instrumental. But that's nitpicking.
Though I am a Sousuke x Kaname fan, i was pleased that the series finished with Tessa smiling...dancing...then falling. But still smiling no doubt.
And damn Kyouko for interrupting Sousuke just has he was about to wrap his arms around Kaname. But of course, the tension must continue.
Overall I loved the episode. From its darker moments to its lighter ones. From Kurz grinning like mad to Kaname's tears. When this series is liscenced I will definitly put for the money. It was awesome, and one of my favorites. I REALLY hope they decide to continue animating the rest of the novels.
*ends two cents which have turned into a novel*

Kurama: "You've done well so far all by yourself."
Sousuke: "That's not true. You idiots have been lining up for me."

Gates seems to analyze what's happening and then do random things based on what his mind translates it as. He knew he was going to die, so then he tried to attend to other matters, like examining the length of his hair.
I think the blood from Yu Fan was to just further illustrate the scene. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that in anime when mechas get hit hard, like a deathblow, the pilot coughs up a lot of blood. Well, at least both Yu Fan and Yu Lan died trying to reach each other, but both failed. It seems that when both were dying, it seemed like they were actually on the good side since both were destroyed by Amalgam's forces. They're innocent in some way.

^ Yeah. It was actually kinda "sad" to see them go like that...
Overall: This episode was more than what I had expected. Even brought tears to my eyes at various points. The twins... Kaname and Sousuke... And Gates... Gotta love his random-ness.
I'm no good at describing things, so I won't bother now, but for anyone interested, this episode is definately worth every minute of your time...

squeeee!!!!
i cannot believe how wonderfully they executed this episode when i expected it to be some sucky anti-climatic ending!!! but it was absolutely positively COOL-ne!!!!
I totally agree that the scene with gates and the dead twin was the most disturbing things that i have ever seen...i have a sister and i can't imagine how i would feel...i felt so sorry for yu lan(?) and how she couldn't even reach her sister at the end...
I loved how they moved the opening song to the battle, it's such a cheerful song and i felt like it was a hopeful start...which reminds me, didja notice that sousuke's dark hours was at night and when he was "saved" it was dawn? chidori's his dawn...
my favorite part was when sousuke said that he was a student at jindai and he took out the trash...it showed that he made up his mind and decided who he wanted to be--against his orders. and when he said "i don't remember selling my soul to mithril" Go backbone!!! little sousuke's all grown up...*sniff sniff snork
I'm glad there's still tension and uncertainty in the anime, i hope that means there will be another season, no matter how long....
i loved sousuke and arbalest's banter, it was kinda comedic and also showed that he had come to terms with their uselessness. did that little tap on the screen seem kinda affectionate to u too?
thwap! and that's a rap!

One of the main problems for a sequel or more episodes is where do they find a new bad guy. Gauron was great because he was EVIL!!! Gates was (in my opinion) even better because he was completely nuts. But who will take they're place??? I sure hope it isn't the brother of Tessa. He's OK as a behind the scene bad guy, but he lacks the senseless vilence
The Ninja freezes his opponent with the the gaze of a 1000 angry poodles!!

Ummm yeah I saw it too... It was great! I loved it when Sousuke jumped on his teacher saying that there was a laser. But something is bugging me. This might sound noobish but, Okay the person with the sniper rifle and the binoclulars, was it Mao? Because if it was how come they didnt show her face?
My favorite line
"Sir I am not a Sergeant... I am a mercenary..."
Hehehehhe also
"You're turning into a man... I'll go buy you a treat"
Now this line is odd

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
