A good ending to FMP? (spoilers?)

What does everyone think would be a good ending of FMP. After seeing TSR I'd have to say, Kaname running into Souske's arms wouldn't be enough for me. A kiss, wouldn't be enough for me. Even more so, because I think it'd be funny to see Kaname/Souske as a couple for a season or something.

I'm not really sure how I think it should end... hmm

It's a curious question. The story has basically lost it's innocence with Kyoko ending up in the hospital, Sousuke out exploring the world as a mercenary, and Kaname taken prisoner...

I'd love to see pinoccio becomming a real boy, but...let's face it...he aint never going to be able to go to school with Kaname again, at her level...he might be tutored by her, but she's a whispered, no way he'll be able to keep up, ever...

Perhaps Kaname won't be needing a bodyguard anymore, and they can both engage in seperate activeties, the thing that ties them together is that they're a couple...while that's a possibility, the premise of the books is...gone. There's no pinoccio to clutter the social life situations up anymore, and there's no amalgam to provide action...

I'm not sure how it'll work out either, but I do know that it'll be very complicated to work anything out after this...a kiss wouldn't be enough, though, there'd have to be more...[/ecs]

Her Whispered abilities only seem to help her with math and science. It would depend on what kind of field she wanted to get into. If Sousuke went to college, he'd probably take different classes than her since he'd probably have a different degree. I see no reason they couldn't function as a perfectly normal couple in spite of that. Even if Sousuke were to work during the day to support her while she was in college, they could still be fine.

The only complication would involve Sousuke's life in Mithril. His responsibilities could potentially get in the way of things. But I think that they could manage to work things out somehow.

As for my ideal ending, as a romantic, I'd like to see Sousuke and Kaname get as far into their relationship as possible. But somehow I doubt the story will continue much further past Sousuke finding Kaname again.

We already have [ecs]a confession of love from both of them[/ecs] so going back to just regular classmates and letting the plot spin its wheels seems to no longer be an option for Gatou. I think that he's going to HAVE to take them further before this story is through. I figure at least a kiss, and the two returning to school, [ecs]since that's what Sousuke promised. [/ecs] Them being a couple will most likely be implied. I'm not sure how much they'll show of that.

Not sure we should really have to use ECS in this thread. I think anyone who doesn't want to read spoilers should know better than to read a thread like this. Almost every post is going to have to be blotted out.

yea that's why i put on my topic "spoilers", so we wouldn't have to use ecs if we didn't want to

ok first off, taurec, are you saying kaname did lose her whispered-ness or that that would solve many issues IF SHE DID

anyway, yea, i think that a college-type thing would be nice

however, the thing is there really is only two ways to go (as i see it)...

1.) a comedy/romance setting much like fumoffu except much more serious

2.) same as above except bits of action thrown in

the problem with 1 is that it might turn off people who like the action, the problem with 2 is it could potentially leave kaname out of the picture, and/or make no sense at all (*random* battles)

however, i think it'd be cool to see souske & kaname working at mithiril in their spare time (this could potentially fix #2); hmm, i guess time will tell... i'd like some wedding bells

(although right now this is FAR from possible, heh)

Kaname at Mithiril? She would be the next Sgt Mjr Mao! (just without the booze!) Oh and imagine the headache Sgt Sagara would have. Every sailor and soldier would be trying to get into her pants.

For some reason, I've never liked the idea of Kaname working for Mithril. It just seems to me that Kaname has always followed her own path in life and if she were to join Mithril, it would be because of her Whispered abilities. I see her making a successful career for herself in something that she sets out to do on her own, rather than changing her life for some power she never asked for to begin with.

Maybe that's not an especially good excuse, but for some reason, the idea has just never sat well with me.

Yeah, I think later on Mithril might give Kaname an invitation, I mean a Whispered they've been putting time and resources on from protecting her from potential dangers. What if that did happen, and then she was of higher rank than Sousuke. Sousuke might get more nervous like he still kind of is with Tessa. It would probably reverse a few steps in their relationship, but Sousuke in time would probably recover them. Only if Sousuke and Kaname hadn't come to terms in recognizing their love for each other, than there would have been more Kaname vs Tessa action for Sousuke. It would be terrible for Sousuke, being caught between 2 feudal superiors.

Were both of these in TSR (anime)? I'm waiting for the DVD so I'm just wondering. I hope so though. Chances, if they aren't, you probably read the novels so you're ahead.

Just wack her on the head / give her a shot that fries some neural pathways and make her a "normal" girl again .. Sousuke still would come to her even if the protection wasn't needed anymore.

The whole situation is basically up in the air right now, dunno even if Gatoh knows exactly where it's going, but I'd like to see the two of them return to school (this at least seems planned) and more importantly graduate together (all those times with Kaname tutoring or lending her notes to Sousuke better start paying off )

Kaname burning out would be nice but I for one think it's as likely as her working as a researcher and developing next-generation weapon platforms, for either Mithril or Amalgam.

cut to scene, kaname and sousuke's home (show a mailbox or something), sousuke walks into the kitchen and spots a unidentified bento box on counter, rigs bomb and goes kaboom! Chidori walks in confused, then angry cuz she made it for him...pull away from them...show house, then pull back further to show that they live on merida island, while at the same time have a voice-over of kaname yelling and sousuke stuttering and a couple of

sounds. show al sitting outside and shaking his head or something

wouldn't it be okai to live at the base? i mean other military bases have families too... she'd need to be there to be secure, cuz losing her whispered-ness might make the next season too dark to be comedic(which i'm sure everyone wants it to be somewhat funny) and she can't live normally...so...

okai..i revise that...she could lose her whisperedness, but we'd have to dig way deep into the past cuz we don't even know how she got that way, so therefore we don't know how to remove it from her brain.. and if they decide to do 13 episodes again....we'd have some riots...or just me picketing..

either ways, sousuke would save her, and they'd both graduate and live together somewhere, she might or might not be working for mithril. we don't need no stinkin' details

and what do u ppl mean something more than a kiss?

question! who do u think will be the first to say "i love you"? if ever?

I think Sousuke would be the first to say those words. He's already shared his feelings to someone else in ODMC. Kaname's more bashful about her own feelings.
