FMP: Continuing On My Own Discussion *Spoilers*
Moderators: KiLlEr, HELLFIRE, Taurec
It should be noted that Sousukes psyche is incredibly important for his abillity to use the arbalast...he doesn't have not drugs to help him use the lambda driver, he relies on his own willpower, and his own mental capacity to concentrate.
For Leonard to introduce a lil' bit of rot and frustration to his thought pattern...it's a good tactic.

Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

with the way the discussion has been going about how he wishes chidori to remain innocent, it feels like he's promoted her to goddess position in his mind. In DVMC, he says that Chidori represents peace, harmony, and other stuff--like an angel
"Protect Angel"
I think it's funny how he's moved his fixation on Tessa as goddess to Chidori...what's that say about his character?
I still love sousuke nonetheless, but i think he's cruisin' for a bruisin' when chidori finds out he's trying to shelter her, when she's got this strong sense of self-reliance ... i mean, she protected herself pretty well on that rooftop. Does he know what she did there or was that covered up by wraith?
And the most gigantic question i have is: why is chidori so important now? what is the reason behind their huge barrage of attacks, just the sunstorm? how does leonard plan to use chidori if he antagonizes her first and then attacks the dude she loves/likes?
all in all, i was dang breathless by the end.

I highly doubt it. Kaname acts tough and independent, but she relies a lot of Sousuke, and has a habit of getting getting flustered whenever he makes a bold move to stand up for her. She may have been able to defend herself on the rooftops (barely), but she cried because Sousuke WASN'T there to protect her.I think it's funny how he's moved his fixation on Tessa as goddess to Chidori...what's that say about his character?

She's a strong girl, but she still wants her hero. More than likely, she'd be thrilled if she knew the regard in which Sousuke held her.
She told Sousuke about what happened on the rooftops, but not about the kiss. I'm pretty sure he knows about the rest. Maybe Wraith too.
I don't think he regards her as a goddess anymore- I think that's the whole point of how he's changing. You see that he's not afraid to be more assertive with her, to tell her how he feels. You get the sense that if anything, he's seeing himself as more human, as well as everyone else.
As far as Kaname goes, I think she's a strong-willed girl, but that what's happening in the story is out her range of heroism. She doesn't know how to handle it (why should she?), so she has to depend on Sousuke, because he's her only hope. She usually doesn't give him crap about being protective of her when it's something important.

Thing with Tessa being a goddess was because of Sousuke's obvious respect for the high ranks, and also because she's so fair and sophisticated. The problem of Sousuke and Tessa that Sousuke got over was his view on her as a goddess, you're not going to open up to a goddess, so he obviously didn't. In COMO he got over it saying that she isn't a goddess but just another human or something, so he stuttered what he had always wanted to say. Sousuke still has some communication problems with Tessa about what he feels, but he's working on it.
Now, if he is thinking of Kaname as a god, then there's no chance that he'll ever open up even more. And he's already very open to Chidori, so I opt more for some kind of angel figure, or plainly someone who he wants to protect from all harms.

yeah I mean...in a way, Sousuke worships chidori, but a godess...
well, he recognizes that she's precius and frail, and not incorruptable...and that he has a huge influence on her life...that's a very human concern, and a concern for someone who is very human...so I think the goddess thing...yeah, maybe that isn't the best way to put it.

That was an awesome segment. Seems we'll see Behemoth vs. AS action. I wonder how Mao, from novel scans, will be able to handle them.

Isn't that the bad guy in BOMF holding a cell phone? My guess is that he was the one who contacted Kaname's cell phone and there's the picture of Kyoko.

well, Tokyo hasn't seen this kind of action for a while. Oh and I hope they animate this. Can't wait to see this happen on the screen.

If this gets animated, I sure as hell hope they make the arbalast look beat up again...it looked so f*cking cool in the first season when they had half it's head trashed, during the fight with gauron....
Anyway, one thing that bugged me was how Sousuke was so banged up...if they're gonna animate this, they'll both be covered in his blood...

I like the fact that Sousuke finally seems human in this one- it's pretty impossible to do all the things he does without getting injured.AEmer wrote:If this gets animated, I sure as hell hope they make the arbalast look beat up again...it looked so f*cking cool in the first season when they had half it's head trashed, during the fight with gauron....

Alas, it will probably be a while until, or even if they will, animate this part. I don't think they would try until the story is at least finished b/c of how these last books are all running together. As bad as the cliffhangers from the past seasons have seemed to be, leaving off at the end of any of these current books would be evil.
