Well, the reason I don't necessarily think that Sousuke should kill him has to do more with him needing to redeem himself in Kaname's eyes. Leonard, bastard he is, has now made Kaname see Sousuke in a whole other light, and not a good one. And now Sousuke's questioning himself, thinking of himself as an evil person, not worthy of Kaname. I just think that if Sousuke does in fact kill Leonard, it will ruin any chance that their relationship will get patched up. Of course, this is just my opinion on the subject...I have no clue how it will turn out.
But Tessa killing Leonard...somehow that would have a poetic ring to it. I don't really think it would happen, but damn, would I have some respect for her then. Now that she's over this whiney phase of hers, she's becoming a more respectable leader, willing to do whatever it takes to save her crew.

Well, I agree with that. Which is why I think it'd be almost poetic if Kaname herself killed him. Then it'd be a lesson for her that sometimes you just have to do what must be done and move past it.
Of course, there's so many ways this could play out. That's just one idea. I can also see the significance of Tessa being the one to finish him off. I think at this point, this story could go any number of directions and still make for a really good story (so long as Sousuke and Kaname hook up when it's done :p).

LOL, how do you move past killing yourself or learn any lessons from it? Plus, I think that if she were going to kill herself, she'd have done it already. I think the only way she'd submit to those kind of thoughts would be if she found out Sousuke were dead. But, overall, I think it kind of makes it hard for them to get together in the end if she's dead...also, her death would have a major impact on Sousuke, in a very bad way. It seems the only reason he has for living now is to save her- even though he also believes there's no way that they can be together.Weltall Elite wrote:Well, I agree with that. now that i think about it. i think sousuke shouldnt kill leonard, he should let him suffer in mithrils hands. if sousuke dosnt kill leonard it will show that he isnt a cold blooded killer, i can understand if he kills leonard only if leonard does somthing real bad to kaname.sj4iy wrote:Well, the reason I don't necessarily think that Sousuke should kill him has to do more with him needing to redeem himself in Kaname's eyes. I didn't say Kaname killing herself! I said "Kaname herself killing him"! As in, Kaname is the one who kills him instead of Sousuke. >_<sj4iy wrote:LOL, how do you move past killing yourself or learn any lessons from it? And ending where Kaname kills herself would kinda... suck.
Oops, read that wrong. Sorry. I do agree that would suck if she killed herself And it would rock if she killed Leonard...but I don't think Sousuke would like that if she did. And I don't think she could accept herself if she did. I'm just all pissed off that she's thinking badly of Sousuke now, as if he all the sudden turned into an evil person. She'll get over it, though.

I think this thread is the best this forum has seen in a long time. Discussing the best way to off Leonard brings a tear of joy to my eye. And so, in honor of it, I’ve written a new short spoof. I call this one:
“Who Gets to Kill Leonard?”
It’s the final novel of the FMP series and Leonard has been defeated by Sousuke. He’s a bloody and broken mess. His forces have been scattered. He has no more power within his fallen evil organization. And best of all, his pretty faces is messed up beyond recognition. The only problem remaining is deciding what to do with him…
Sousuke: This question is completely irrational. As the hero, I should be the one to kill him.
Kaname: No, Sousuke, you’ve taken so many lives already. You should show yourself to have a heart and be merciful even to your worst enemy... So instead, I’ll kill him.
Sousuke: No! You’re pure and innocent! Don’t soil your hands with blood! Let me! I’m already beyond redemption!
Kaname: ...I’m not THAT pure and innocent. He stole my first kiss against my will, and I hate him for it. So let me kill him.
Sousuke: He did WHAT!? That son of a bitch! I’ll kill him!
Tessa: Wait, Sousuke. He’s my brother. So he’s my responsibility. So let me be the one who kills him.
Sousuke: But, Captain. I’m the hero and he’s my arch-nemesis. Further, he’s been moving in on my girl. This would be a classic tale of “good over evil” if I were to kill him and defend Chidori’s honor. Further, after coming so far to build a happy life in Tokyo, just as things were starting to look up, he showed up and ruined things, turning FMP into a very angsty tale, thereby, giving me an opportunity to create a dramatic effect by seeking revenge. As you can see, I have a perfect excuse to be the one to kill him, as it would create major emotional content for the ending of the story.
Tessa: Yes, but I’m his twin sister who shares many of the same abilities he does, but on opposite ends of the battle field. Further, my character has always had an inferiority complex when compared to him and has always lived in his shadow. I also grew up very dependant on him. Me killing him would represent me breaking free from his influence and standing as my own person and therefore maturing. This ending could also be very dramatic!
Kaname: Now wait a sec! I’m the one he kidnapped! I’m the one whose life got ruined by him! I’m the one who had a portion of her innocence stolen by him that can never be replaced! He threatened to kill millions of innocent people as well as my best friend and the man I love. No one has more reason to hate him than me! I’m also the one who was naïve enough to be persuaded to fear Sousuke because of how many people he’s killed. So me killing him would add all kinds of emotion and depth to the story, plus I would form an understanding of Sousuke that sometimes you have to do what you have to do in order to do the right thing, even if it sometimes means killing evil people.
Kalinin: Now hold on a minute. I’ve been acting all buddy-buddy with this guy for months so I could get close to him and kill him. You HAVE to let me do it!
Mardukas: I think it’d be much more interesting if you let me strap explosives to his body and fired him out of the torpedo bay.
Arbalast: Sergeant, if you’re going to kill him, might I request you use me to do it? I am the main mech of the story and have become synonymous with the main hero’s “ultimate power”. And there’s nothing more dramatic than the big, flashy bright lights the Lambda Driver creates as it liquefies your enemies.
Sousuke’s Glock: Hey, Arbalast gets to kill everyone. Don’t forget about me. I’ve been with you everywhere Arbalast couldn’t go, like inside your school briefcase. Besides, nothing is more classic than shooting the enemy in the chest or stomach and watching as they slowly die, while the hero gives them a condescending lecture on their sins, and the villain comes to realize the err of their ways, because nothing says “conscience” like “lead poisoning”.
Everyone: (bickers some more)
Leonard: Oh, for Pete's sake! ::pushes a button and self-destructs::
Sousuke: ...Well, that wasn't very dramatic.
Kaname: Doesn't matter. We can still give the audience a nice romantic yet steamy ending. ::winks::
Sousuke: It's not a problem.

Since a universal rule of thumb seems to be that most anime never ends the way you want it to end. I assume it could be the same for a Japanese novel ...
Leonard isn't the top dog, Mr. Gold? is. This opens the door for either him to sacrifice himself to either safe Tessa or Kaname. I'm not sure he would pull the trigger if Mr. Gold? orders him to kill Tessa or Kaname.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Mardukas' methid gets my vote...
<Gunbunny>
Strap him to an ADCAP and let 'er rip. OR tie him to the RGM-109. Stick a W-80 warhead to be sure. OR tie him to the screws of the TDD-1 and keel haul 'em. OR strap him to a Nixie and let the torps play.

Remember kids, trying to start Armageddon is dangerous. Do not try it at home.
