so THAT's how it all fit together... so i dunno maybe it is on animesuki, but is that actually how it ended?
it ended with [ecs] wraith talking about the ARX-8... i'm assuming the new arbalest??? but did the story make any reference to who the guy he/she [wraith] was talking to???[/ecs]

Well, Mao going up isn't a surprise, really. Mind you, she was a Marine officer before - she can lead.
It was hinted in DVMC that Kurz may go up the ladder: notice how he's taking more of a leadership role? Cluzout and Mao are spotting him for Sergeant Major.
I have a feeling that that guy that Wraith meets up with is Kalinin. That'd be badass. Plus, it indicates that all is not lost.
Amalgram are apparently chockfull of Whispereds. And their R&D is pretty good. I kinda get the impression that Mithril has been feeling sorta invincible, until BAM! ECCS-guided Patriots, ECCS-guided manpads, SHITLOADS of Lambda Driver-equipped Venoms and AT LEAST 3 Behemoths... Amalgram's really done a number on them.
This is also somewhat irrelevant, but I have a feeling that out of all of us civilians on these boards, Pyrite would freak out the least if he found himself thrown into the FMP war.

You give me far too much credit, Goose, and that's absolutely all I'm going to say on the matter.
[ecs]I'm kinda disappointed with the ARX-8 designation, actually. I was actually hoping for something closer to "ARX-7 Kai" for the sake of nostalgia.
Or maybe "Great Arbalest". Or "Shin Arbalest". Or "God Arbalest". [/ecs]

Ah well, you've been through basic, so you should be okay, right?Pyrite wrote:You give me far too much credit, Goose, and that's absolutely all I'm going to say on the matter.

And lol on all of those names... no, better yet! [ecs]"ARX-17 Arbalest Mk.II", or "ReArbalest" or "Strike Arbalest" or "Infinite Arbalest."
I wonder... will the JSDF even get their hands on the M9J Samurai? ^_^[/ecs]

Hell no, I won't be okay.
And I think I put that bit on the [ecs]ARX-8[/ecs] in the wrong thread...
Just a thought: anyone care to discuss Amalgam's codename for Kaname, "Job"? And Brandi kindly points out for us in the footnotes, "As in the Biblical figure Job."
I really suspect that Gatou wants to make Kaname suffer. Honestly, though, Job lost almost every material thing in his life: wealth, family, and health. (But he kept his wife, which was even worse, and I'm not being misogynistic. ) Of course, God restored it all to him in the end, but not before 30+ chapters of him petitioning for God to explain why it all happened, and protesting his innocence.
I won't drag the analogy too far, of course, but spoiled forum regulars obviously know what happens after these chapters.

Pyrite: you forget that his kids were all killed, and that he was left with his 4 friends as well. Which was just as bad. Of course, after all was said and done, God set Job straight ahd [ecs]restored to him all that was lost. And scolded the friends too.[/ecs] But yes, it looks like Gatoh is gonna make Kaname suffer. I bet her family's been targeted by Amalgram.Pyrite wrote:Hell no, I won't be okay.

Still.... if Japan ever gets the M9, I have a feeling that Shinji will be riding one. By that time, he oughta be in the JSDF already....
Still, ARX-8? Maybe they can transfer the AI from Arbalest - I miss Al. It'll be a pity if that's it for him.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Well the newest release of COMO is out. I'm sure few are surprised since it was hinted last week that there would be a release following the April fools joke. First off, thank you to Boku-tachi for the many releases, they are much appreciated. Good work!
Now on to the content itself. Although I am more invested in the storyline of Sousuke and Kaname, I found that despite three thirds of the chapter being devoted to the fate of Mithril, I was quite engaged. It was very nice to see Kurz take the lead, and even though the results were not as ideal as they could have been, at least it avoided the typical cliche "high stakes, one shot deal motivates the character to make a more godly shot than ever possible".
The last bit dealing with Sousuke provided more focus on inner contemplation, and I was not surprised by Sousuke's choice in the end. Progressively throughout the FMP storyline he has been disregarding his own logical and military training due to Kaname's involvement. Obviously we all know the reason why, but it was nice to have it presented so clearly.
I am really enjoying COMO with its building tension and non-stop series of high-stakes situations. I hope the climax will not dissapoint. But of course it won't. If you will allow me to digress slightly with a rather typical exclamation... FMP rocks!
