Brother or Brother? Confusing

I am reading the FMP novels. In the anime series and in the novel End of Day by Day, Leonard is referred to as the "Older Brother" of Tessa, however in the novel A Dancing Very Merry Christmas (or is it the Cinderella one? I've forgotten) he is Tessa's "Twin Brother". I'm confused. Please clarify.

Maybe they're mistaken for identical twins because Leonard looks so much like Tessa...
or is that Tessa looks so much like Leonard...

No, they are twins, he's the same age as her. But he's just the older one (notice that all of the whispered so far have been born on Dec 24th?).

Has it been the same year? I know for Tessa and Kaname yes...but what about Bunny and Nami? Hmm..interesting twist. Kinda reminds me of Evangelion and the Second Impact thingy with the Children.

Wait a minute... when Tessa was talking about her brother in the TDD's bath with Kaname and Mao, didn't she describe her brother as 2 years older and how she felt inferior to him because he solved these problems at a younger age and that he was her protector?

Maybe we just found a plot scewup, since I do remember him being refered to as a twin.

Either way, it's entirely possible that the anime is a different continuity than the books.

I admit my impression had always been that Leo was the elder. Tessa's story from the anime definately established that feeling.

But since learning Tessa's bday was the same as Kaname's, that had a feeling of 'coincidence!!' that Sousuke would sympathize with. I just guess that 'Leo=older' impression was wrong, and will have to rebuy the FMP dvds to re-watch that part.

Tessa and Leo looking alike means nothing about being twins or not- they couldn't be identical, so they're no closer genetically than regular siblings

(unless the Whispered catalyst really majorly screwed with basic human biology)

I also thought that Leonard was older since it would be more impressive if he was older, not to mention the height difference...If all the Whispereds were born on Dec. 24, then if Leonard was the same age, were they all born on the same year? How did they get the Whispereds for the creation of the AS then?

Maybe the "special" Dec 24th happens every so many years? Y'know, like leap year or Halley's comet coming around.
