Without spoiling the storyline, there are times where the characters split up and you have the option to follow either side. So, for example it will focus on Nadesico if you follow them, or Gundam Seed if you follow them. Parts of the story from a lot of mecha series are thrown in, and you'll have to be able to read Japanese to understand anything you haven't watched.
