Well this is my first post here, but I always read the topics!
What I have to say about COMO Novel is that
It was one of the best novel I read so far! The most exciting chapter was 4b! Lots of action scenes *-* Wow, When the situation with the students came up I thought " There's no way Sousuke can handle it" but yeah, he made it and it was funny. The only moment I laught in the entire novel.
Am I the only one who don't hate Leonard?
I mean, my favorite male caracter is Sousuke, I do want Sousuke hook up with Kaname, but I still don't hate him. Anyone with a similar opinion?

Anyway, I loved the tender moments! Sousuke holding hands with Kaname was the best of them for me
And, Sousuke got determination! Start to look up for Kaname having no clue of her whereabouts. He's certainty in love

At last but not the least, when I always read the afterwords I realize how much work and efforts Brandi put on these translations, so thank you Brandi and the Boku-Tachi Staff. It was a great work!

You don't need ECS when the thread topic says *Spoilers* - K

Mmm, good stuff. Many thanks, sj4iy & Boku-tachi. (But I'll be a stubborn git and still insist on "Belial" instead of "Verial".)

Let it be known that I think I called the TDD-1 ramming something, although it wasn't quite the target I wanted. Gunner's said everything else I wanted to say, so...

It should be Belial- call it a screw-up on my part translating- I've seen it romanized somewhere, but damned if I can find it again :/ This is what happens when you're tired and trying to finish a chapter in a week :)

Ya! Finally got around to reading the last chapter. It's great! :-D

My heart grew heavy when reading the part about Al in his final moments. If Sousuke cried, I might've also. :p Also, Sousuke shooting his pistol at Leo's AS's sensor reminds me of Tom Hanks and the tank at the end of Saving Private Ryan... except less dead and no air support.

Love the alternate universe suggestions Gatou-sensei gave us for BOMF. It's good to know that he plans to end the entire story decisively in the future and not leave any unsolved issues open just for the possibilities of silly animated sequals... though I can probably enjoy a lot of crappy FMP seasons before I hate it. :p

Thanks a million Brandi! I will worship you forever.

Just to further emphasize the time and effort required in translating an entire novel, I'm currently attempting to translate Burning One Man Force for kicks. PAIN IN THE ASS (but easier in some ways because it's not mostly based in Japan and has slightly less cultural nuances that foreigners wouldn't understand, like Hachiko by Shibuya Station).

So we should all appreciate Brandi for the time and effort that was poured into this project (not that anybody doesn't). Your translations are a hell of a lot better than mine would turn out, and everybody thanks you for that.

Leonard's crazy AS is incredulously powerful (but we know Sousuke will HAVE to kill it later). And its pilot is a sad, misguided child, in the same sense Tessa was for ever fantasizing about Sousuke. NO, you may not interfere with the protagonist relationships!

Naturally.

Oh my...I've been so busy with exams I hadn't noticed the last and final chapter.

Great work...This novel was remarkable, and in my oppinion managed to be far more engrossing, and far better executed than both DVMC and ODBD - 2...

I'm amazed at how Gatoh managed to write these novels in little pieces, and at the same time maintain long story-lines...Kalinin was left for dead in this novel, but we know that he has met with Leonard before, so we also know he is far more likely to be alive than dead.

I'm also amazed at how fast Brandi has been translating...thumbs up on this one !

Finally...I think this establishes several things about full metal panics universe. The function of Leonards AS is...He uses the lambda-driver to move, to attack, to defend, and to execute evasive maneuvers. And he is able to do so, apparently, because he is able to draw upon a power that lies within an omni-sphere.
Whispereds are, in other words, in a class of their own, when it comes to drawing upon the lambda driver...

I think the portrayal of Sousuke, relying upon his ingenuity, his experience, and his ability to act in the most efficient manner, excellently demonstrates the difference between Sousuke and Leonard we just saw. He suffers as he makes the hard choices, but he makes them, and he keeps on fighting. It can be said that he goes down fighting.

Considering we get some insight into Leonards mind...why would Leonard want to crush Sousuke? Because Sousuke doesn't yeild even when Leonard would, that's my guess. And that thought was uncomfortable to bear, so uncomfortable that Leonard almost messed up his plan for retrieving Kaname. Like a lot of great villains, his ego is a gapingly open achilles heel...
Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

I have finally finished it.

Mithril took a huge beating, but they're hanging on, I'd say.

I can't wait for BOMF now. ;_;

And Al had to die no whyyyyyyyyy ;_;

Heh, it just occured to me: Considering Gatou's "possible" scenarios in his author's notes, we have the benefit of hindsight. And when we look at what we knew about Burning One Man Force (bar the few lucky sods who understand written Japanese and had access to the novels), where there was huge speculation about Nami and her connection to Sousuke...

...who's to say he didn't actually toy with vestiges of this idea for a while? Not seriously, of course, but...

Oh, and I sooo want to see the Belial animated, and with a SRW incarnation following. Slick flowing movements, sparkly special effects, Lambda Driver Omnisphere... it'll definitely be a boss unit.

I have a feeling that for Sousuke to kill it would take quite a lot of work. Unless the ARX-8 is ALSO equipped with an Omnisphere.

I dunno why, but I kinda get the impression that Leonard's too used to playing with God Mode On, as it were. *shrugs* It's like, I dunno, he views things as being easy, what with the flying Belial (and is it me, or is the Belial sorta like an Orbital Frame? It's got wings, it's flyign around, it's got a lotta uber-ness to it...)

Also, soemthing that I'm curious: when Sousuke's bullets hit the optical sensors, Leonard feels like a mosquito bite... could the Omnisphere act like the Eva? What I mean is, that the user "feels" what is happening to the AS?

And Amalgram has a C-17.... interesting.... they've got a lot of pull to be able to get even one of those...

I really cannot wait for "TMMD" now. ^^ But BOMF first, of course.

Not really WG. With enough money anyone could buy one. You just need know where to look (or who to pay to steal one)

Even if Leonards machine appears to be a god, it is still _just_ an AS. If it breaks, it breaks.

Ok, so he appears to have a much greater degree of awareness than most, sensing the mines sousuke had set up upon their explosion, but he's emotional, and prone to leaving his back open when he thinks he's won. He does not use any of the basic rules of combat, either...he takes him out using just his hands, where Sousuke would've taken himself out using the most clean and effective weapon available.

He licks his teeth before his pray.

He should be prone to a single sniper-shot just like the Behemoth was, if delivered at the right moment.

I'll grant that, but you probably realise that it's a little hard to break the Belial at this stage. And if you tried the sniper shot, either enhanced spatial awareness, super-armour or plot device would stop the bullet just before it hits. Something tells me it'll eventually go down to raw Lambda Drivers and knives - or if Sousuke decides to pull the Love Love Sekiha Tenkyouken with Kaname as a finisher, they might not even use weapons. 8)

Oh, and for the gunbunnies, you can note that Leonard's AS has built-in weapons. Just a note in relation to the last comments in the Armoury.

CPOK: That's what I meant when I said pull. All C-17s are either USAF or RAF, so to be able to steal one means they have a lot of pull.

Of course, it could always have been stolen and chalked up to a crashed aircraft. *shrugs*

Pyrite: Somehow, I figure Sousuke's Finishing Move is gonna involve a LOT of explosions. And you're probably right, it'll come down to Lambda Drivers and knives.

Still, SOusuke has something Loenard lacks: Drive, determination, and battlefield kickass. Sousuke was forged on the battlefield. Leo's just some emo kid.

Sousuke FTW.
