Okay, so I have now finished watching FSN and unfortunately it was "that sucked". First of all, the entire episode was just anti-climatic. I was bored during the final fight, and I was bored after the fight. Why oh why must they keep repeating: 1)yell name of sword, 2)shoot out power blast, 3)let said blasts meet halfway and then wait a few seconds with flashing lights to determine who's power blast is stronger, 4)lesser contender gets a mouthful of either dirt or blood. I think anyone who has seen an episode of Dragonball Z has probably had their fill of that. And maybe it wouldn't have been so boring or stupid if they hadn't done the same thing already many times over in the previous episodes--even with the same people. By this point, I'm wondering what the hell they even have the swords for. "Guys, those things you're both holding... yeah, pointy end goes into other man." There's just no technique or art to the fighting at this point.
[ecs]And poor Kotomine, you just know the guy is going to die, his power is a bunch of goo for chrissake. [/ecs] I didn't really think Gil's sword was that great either. I thought it looked rather stupid actually.
[ecs]Oh, and that whole thing with Sabre suddenly out of nowhere saying something about how Shirou was her scabbard and a new noble phantasm/Avalon thing, then both of them instantly having "invincibility mode" was rather abrupt and lame. [/ecs]
(Btw, am I the only who doesn't give a damn what happens to Illya?)
[ecs]And then we realize that in the end, Shirou isn't all that affected with Sabre leaving, despite his undying love, and really, Sabre just wanted to go back to the past so she could have a nap without Shirou causing her problems every two minutes. All's well that ends well. [/ecs]
Alright, I'm being somewhat harsh. There were parts of this series that I felt were enjoyable and well done. Episode 14 I actually felt was a cut above a lot of episodes not only in the series, but in other shows as well. Yeah, I think the ending was crap, but at least it kept me watching until the end, despite the good and bad, and as said previously, there have been many shows that I cannot say the same for. Things I would have improved in a nutshell:
A smarter main character. More creative fighting scenes. And a different last episode. (Obviously I could add more, but I'll leave room for others.)

IMO i thought the ending was great although sad.... probably coz i played the game and i knew what to expect... coz to shirou he did help saber to be happy in the end and there was no regrets... imo the script writers are probably playing on the avalon being the resting place for heroes... As we all know when Arthur died, his body was sent to avalon where he fell into a long/lasting sleep.. also Shirou became the hero he dreamed of so does this mean when he dies he goes off to avalon too??

...about the only way to add to the sop of the ending would be to have
Sakura & Rin do the 'My sister ' thing they hinted in the 2nd OP.
For a minute there, I thought FSN's ending would get alittle Evangelionish
with those scrawlings of what was being said by everyone.
I asked to be reasonably entertained, and i got it.... nuff seid.
Nice work there Tau? You claiming credit on those two pics?
