One of the main characters just has to die, it's.... it's the law,
Rowling is going to do it, Shinichiro Watanabe did it. so Gatou has to.

Kaname was / is kinda tragic, she was always alone, unapproachable. She found someone to love, so what greater gift then to die in a blaze of .. well to sacrifice herself for Sousuke.

I think that if Kaname died sacrificing herself for Sousuke (which she's already sacrificed herself once for him already), there would be no meaning to it because Sousuke wouldn't "go on with his life"...it's pretty clear that his only reason for living anymore is to save her- he's disgusted with himself otherwise. And if Sousuke died for Kaname, well, that wouldn't be as big of a surprise, but I don't think Kaname would ever forgive herself for it.

The way you put it, it almost sounds like you've got some... spoilers... for us.

I doubt Mithril has the resources for a full-scale assault at this stage, so I'm thinking that everybody else draws the bulk of the Amalgam forces away while Sousuke penetrates into the heart of their base for a showdown with Leonard.

Maybe Sousuke makes final sacrifice to defeat Amalgam to save Kaname from certain death or worse. He buts Lambda Driver to selfdestruct and runs it middle of Amalgam HQ killing all important leaders of Amalgam exept Leonard who has changed sides for Tessa's sake.

Or,

Sousuke defeats Amalgam and Al Version 2.0 (aka H.Al 9k), goes crazy because he was lied to, murders everyone in Mythril.

I can't see them being able to go back to school after all that's happened. More likely they'd make a quick stop so that Sousuke could fulfil his promise and then they'd disappear again.

Since Kaname can't escape what she is, I think her only real choice would be to join with what's left of Mithril and help to rebuild it. Between her and Tessa, they could probably come up with some pretty neat toys.

Someone important will probably die along the way, as well. Kalinin is a very likely candidate. Kurz and Melissa could also eat it. I could even see Tessa dying in an attempt to save her brother and/or take him down. How tragic would that be?

Whatever happens, I really don't want Sousuke and Kaname to be killed off. It would seriously break my heart.

I wouldn't mind the idea Sousuke originally thought of where the two of them run off alone together and no one knows them and they live a poor but happy life together. But after Sousuke's promise to protect all that belongs to her and to bring her back to the school and to pretty much make everything as it was, I think he's going to settle down with her in Japan.

Ah! Yes I swooned when I read that part n.n. That would be nice if they ran off but I just can't see that...but I can't see them going back to school like everything's normal. I think just the finality of how many times he'd think of how he'd never see the school again or how he'd think that Kaname would never sit at her desk again...it just makes it seem so final. Then there's the theory someone brought about Kaname dying for Sousuke...that would be the most tragic of them all because I can either see Sousuke going on some mad rampage or then killing himself since his reason for living is gone.

I really don't know how it will end but I'd love Sousuke/Kaname together ;_; but the way it's been going for this long it's so hard to see a happy ending just yet and ahhhhhhh I need to read Burning One Man Force >.<
