A Flamberg is historically used in a sweeping motion to take the tops off of pikes. I hope the AI of the ARX-6 holds no grudges.
And lets not go with Urban Dictionary about the word. :)

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Okay, new news in from AS:

http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.ph ... tcount=413

And they say that the ARX-8's name is "Laevateinn"/"Laevatein", which isn't a corruption of "Leviathan". Wikipedia isn't working too well for me right now, so I can't check properly, but it's of Norse origin and supposed to be used at Ragnarok. It's supposedly a sword used by Surt(ur), it makes its bearer invincible and can fight independently. (Al, I'm looking at you!) It's also apparently used to cut the roots of the world tree to signal the onset of Ragnarok, and might be Surt(ur)'s "Sword of Revenge" as quoted in other sources.

Either that, or it's a wand known as the "Lie Stick" forged by Loki used for killing the rooster that warns the Norse Gods about the beginning of Ragnarok. I'm pretty confused myself. :?

Either way, to quote Ol' Blue Eyes: "And now... the end is near..."

As for the pics from AS, Kalinin looks like he's in a pretty damning position there. Oh context, I need context! :P

Well, here goes. It's not the end by a long shot, but... it's another step closer.

Well, whoa.

Took a bit of a break for exam hell and other lawyer-y things.

Man, things seem to be coming to a head. And it's good to know that at least some of the Mithril brass have survived. ^_^ Too bad about the M6A3, but then again, the M9E and M9D probably outclass it.

Laevantein is some sorta sword or something. IIRC, it's German or Norse in Origin...

Where've you been, huh? :-D

No, things aren't likely to come to a head yet. There hasn't been enough time to showcase the ARX-8, so I'm guessing at least another two novels are in the works. But naming an Arm Slave after the weapon that's supposed to bring about the end of the world... well, if that's not a sign, I don't know what is.

Brainfart in progress....

What if.. the end of the world might bring about the destruction of Black Technology and all knowledge about it?
As if the world in which Kaname and Sousuke live, would realign itself with our current reality.

I think this book will end in hope.. Sousuke is (re)united with the ARX-8 and is on the hunt to save Kaname from the clutches of Leonard who's on the run.

Wouldn't Kaname be excess baggage to a fleeing Leonard?
I hope the author doesn't make Leonard that stupid.

I haven't read any of the other novels sofar.. so I can't really comment on that.

I'd cut her loose.. if I'd be able to keep my cool.
From the snippets that I've heard up to now, it seems that Leonard is slowly breaking down, with his outburst to Chidori and all.

All that aside, isn't she still too valuable to just "cut loose" (as far as Black Technology is concerned)? I think in the end Sousuke will end up reuniting with Chidori, but Leonard is obviously not gonna let her go without a fight. This is the fight we all are waiting for, isn't it? Oh, the drama! 8)

Yep, Amalgam still wants her for her knowledge of Black Technology - it's not translated to English yet, but in TMMD, Mr. Gold is pressing Leonard to get the required information out of Kaname, a task which he has so far failed to execute.

It'll be a while longer...

I think if Leonard bailed, he'd bring her along with him. If Kaname fell into Mithril's hands, Mr. Gold might get really pissed - so pissed, that he migh lead a mutiny.

Don't ask me why, but I have this impression that Leonard's grip on power isn't exactly as strong as it would be, if, say, it was Gauron in charge.
