ADHD and the Military

Post by Uruz7 »

Ive been on Adderall for a year now and its seems to be working, still not feeling like myself though :? .Does someone know if any branches of the military including the Air Force keep ADHD recruits out.... and if not do they allow a presciption medication like Adderall.

How bad are you without your medication? If you can control it, then it's best to go into the military without it.

In any case, go ask a recruiter. They aren't the ones who will kick you out. Recruiters will work with you and your problems to get you in. Some may even ask you to lie about it. If you do or not is a personal decision. People almost never get caught, but if you do, it's going to be on you.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Yeah, I spoke with my recruiter today. Anyone who permanantly relies on medication to to function normally would be disqualified.

Conclusion

The Armed Forces offer opportunity, challenge, and structure to young adults. Some young adults with LD or AD/HD may be disqualified for military service under current, regulations. For example, the current use of medication to improve or maintain academic skills is disqualifying

Uruz7 did you ever try TCM: Herbs (Traditional Chinese Medicine). And the advantage is that since it isn't reconised as medicine they can't keep you out of the navy for it :-D
I you want to try it, make sure that you find a good practitioner.
