Well, you do have a point - the only AS in the series so far to get a paintjob to "look cool" was the white savage, as I recall it, and that made an awful lot of sense, considering it was for use in an arena...

Since the ECS, there has been no reason to camuflage the slaves.

Still - it seems like a paint-job to me, what with the many different coloured components :S

Different alloys can give different colours.

When it rains ECS becomes somewhat useless, I assume grey for city combat or green for jungle still isn't such a bad idea.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

It's true - but I mean - blue and red?, ok, so redish metal exists (copper and steel), and blue does too (aluminum and cobalt I think)...and so does shades of green...with an amalgam, a lot of nice metalic colours are possible...

But it just seems...so unprovoked that these colours appear here all of a sudden, they don't appear to serve any useful purpose, and it doesn't seem very consistent if it's a paint-job.

But eh...it _does_ send a much more "I'm the hero, look at me!" like message, and it is kinda cool...

It just bugs me in the context of the story, that's all.

Is not Sousuke just that? Emotional unstable pilot I mean . That guy abanded his mission in Hong Kong becouse of emotions.
Had it not been for TSR, I'd say Sousuke was not emo enough for Gunbalestdam. But yeah, he totally cracked there, so now he's good to go. (his behavior in that series being one of the reasons I didn't like it as much as I wanted to...)

Mithril uses paint to umm... paint their Arm Slaves.
The Arbalest had been restored back to white again. The dark gray paint
had been completely stripped off during the fight that took place inside the
ship in late August. The technical officer who had seen it said, "That's proof
that it was powered by the Lambda Driver." The paint coming off seemed to have
something to do with the mysterious force field that Lambda Driver generated,
which made it to where regular paint would not adhere to the Arbalest's armor.

LOL. The first thing that came to mind when I saw this. X'D

Great coloring, though. Looks... kind of patriotic for America, though... or is it just me?
